28 February, 2011
Despite the shift towards Windows Phone 7, Nokia will still ship a MeeGo device this year. It's going to be the successor to the Nokia N900 and will be called the N950. We don't have a photo of the device yet, but...

why people saying unnecessary things abt nokia?? still they are on top. They have potential to recapture market. Symbian existed b4 ur ios or android and was the first proper smartfone. even samsung and SE were using them. Bt the developers of symbian failed to understand what is competition. a new symbian UI can change something.. atleast it will stop criticisms

there is no surprise that he chose wp7 instead of meego or s^3.
Nokia is only one company which produce symbian fones while there are more than 50 who produce android. And still in the last quarter nokia sold 31 million while andorid sold 33 million SMARTPHONES.. So what elop saying is not understandable.

Symbian idyll the world largest platform.the report posted on gsma that said otherwise was wrong. In fact, there are more symbian devices in circulation than all other platforms put together. That's not dead. nokia, jumping to winches phone iss them future proofing their company. The war was not between symbian and android but between nokia and google. Nokia trying to maintain some independence and google trying to claim it all. Nokia simply teamed up with the big fish to combat a common enemy. A strategy sure to diced in the long run. Nokia and microsoft aren't just trying to sell phones. They are trying to define an eco system. One you already belong to if you own a windows pc. The decision to ditch symbian was not because it was irreparable but because it has no eco system. what's the pc equivalent of symbian? mp3 player? Gaming console? If you have one of these things, it influences your choice of brand for another. Just as ipod users are tempted to get an I phone and eventually a mac book.

Whats that? You meant to say that Android is the biggest mobile OS in the world? Oh... well guess what? It's still Symbian.

He said it himself that even up until now, Nokia still doesn't have anything on the table that can compare to the experience of iPhone. Your CEO even said that Symbian is a burning platform and that they have to jump off from it in order to survive. Go on, keep denying that Android and iOS pushed Symbian to it's hole.

[deleted post]:)) Garbage?? Jsut think before you are posting foolishness! Android is the BIGGEST OS in the world! Meego is weak, maybe that it is good, but not so good as Android. WP7 is left behind. :)) NO Copy/paste, NO memory card slot, NO Bluetooth file transfer, and so on. :P

some people talk here as if they own an OS or as if they're a major shareholder. Nokia is taking a bold step because they want to have some identity. If they're not that successful they can always turn to Android, its open and free. Even though there are many Android fans there aren't that many Samsung fans or motorola fans or lg fans. But there are lots and lots of Nokia fans in Planet Earth. That's something.

Android and iOS killed Symbian only on your limited american mind, Symbian still have the biggest market even without good presence on your so beloved country.

Take Nokia's own words for it; two turkeys don't make make an eagle. That's what Nokia said five years ago. Now, those words applies to themselves.

These Nokia fanboys wishes Android to die. lol In their dreams! Android will NEVER die but their beloved Symbian will and will die soon! Android and iOS killed Symbian. LMAO =D
