Whats that? the iPhone 7 Plus almost twice as fast as the Galaxy 8 Plus? And even as usual - meaning this is not the first time? Hopefully Samsung is scrambling everything it has to correct this embarrassment. Have they tried adding some heat?

We are talking a phone that costs around 1000 Euros and is currently, or rather will be very soon, just about the most expensive phone available and they cannot manage to produce the RAM because of manufacturing costs reasons. I rest my case. A cheapskate cost cuting exercise.

So basically, all this "OMG 835 it's just for Samsung, nothing for LG" hype was for a SOC 5% faster than 821, when only 10nm should be a 30% boost in efficiency in comparison with 14nm LPP? It's enough GsmArena for today.

Samsung have definitely put a problem in front of the LG G6, the fact it cant out perform the previous Samsung is never a good sign

What exactly were folks expecting? We've known for a while how the sd835 would do. We've seen the previous benchmarks since last year. Granted that was not final hardware, but still.

As to how it will make up for the missing 2gb, I will leave that to Samsung themselves to explain during unpacked event. But, as to why Samsung going to sell 6gb variants in some region, I can think of a few reason. Its not cost cutting if they are to release the 6gb variant. One reason is that in a competitive market like China it is a given they should provide 6gb variant due to high competitiveness in that particular market. China flagship phone is saturated with similarly high specs smartphone. Same goes to S.Korea as its own home market.
Reason as to why it is not being provided in other region is because of the pricing. This particular 6gb variants which I assumed would be LPPDR4X type would be expensive and difficult to manufacture because it is not manufactured widely in large quantities and there is no other manufacturer other than Samsung demanding the memory chip. Lack of availability putting it price even higher and not fit to be used commercially in other region.

But what plays a bigger role is the size (die area) of Apple silicon vs everyone else. Silicon costs money and since Apple design their own chips and also have economy of scale they don't have to worry about costs of the chip whereas everyone else do.

It had been replaced or renamed as 'Samsung Experience'. If you go to 'about' section on any Samsung phone that have run on Nougat you will see it have 'Samsung Experience version' written on it. Samsung had stop mentioning Touchwiz officially since S2. In a way, Touchwiz never was a Touchwiz. Even for the ill-fated Note7, Grace UX was the only thing mentioned.

However, please explain how faster RAM will make up for a missing 2GB of it in the context of RAM caching which is what Android uses it for extensively? It does not matter how fast RAM is if there is not enough of it. And that still does not explain why Samsung are going to sell 6 GB variants in some regions? Sorry but this just comes across as cynical cheapskate cost cutting exercise which is not acceptable on a premium grade phone at premier pricing.
