It's a fad...wait until you drop your bezel-less unit and you have to replace the complete unit when they tell you that the screen, the housing and the back plate broke. (and it will be physical damage so warranty will not cover it unless you got that super expensive extra care plan)

Is personal preference, im not a fan of edge coz u can easily touch those edges accidentally. Main reason i dont like and want edge, otherwise it looks good. And some people lean more on looks than practicality.

And by internals u r only referring to soc. Thats poor, wether u like it or notthere isnt so much difference between sd835 and 820 performance wise. You wont feel it browsing, games and whatever unless for real hardcore games.
This one i think looks a beauty, u dont have to like it.and not to mention the other innovative features it has.

What about Apps Edge feature, to use it you have to swipe thru the edge of the screen, which is slightly curved? Go and check videos or pictures yourselves.....you will get to know. S6E/S7E's side bezels are just the size of a normal phone. It's screen will be curved, making it look bezel less. What about top and bottom? And what about total body-to-screen ratio?
XZP:
156 x 77 x 7.9 mm (6.14 x 3.03 x 0.31 in)
5.46 inches (~68.4% screen-to-body ratio)
S7E:
150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7 mm (5.94 x 2.86 x 0.30 in)
5.5 inches (~76.1% screen-to-body ratio)
See, S7E packs almost same sized screen in smaller body than XZP. Use it or not, at least there is one way to use that curved screen of S6E/S7E. And now how is that top and bottom bezel exactly useful in Sony's case? It doesn't have soft keys. Then for what?

In the end decided to go for X Performance myself....
Time to go for a 5 incher now.
Its design, size, price and specs are quite my taste at the moment.

It's not a big difference and I think the square design throws people off when looking at pictures.

I think I am only one who loves those bezels. I love the design. Great job. With Sony design was never the issue. Only pricing and performance were questioned. I hope with this phone Sony will again make its name for great camera phones.

Aspros, 03 Mar 2017Are you one of those ppl that are walking down the street a... moreWell, I one of them who NEED those front-stereo speakers. I play a lot of game on my mobile, especially music rhythm game. Using headphones in long period hurts my ears. You can share a music or video with great sound quality from those speakers with your friends or family. It adds a great feeling when watching video or listening to music with stereo speakers. Also, it's annoying if you only have only one fringing speaker, and placed below the phone, because when you use it horizontally, your hand will cover that speaker, and struggle with it. Sony's front-stereo speakers has great sound quality.
Note that I'm not that "one of those ppl that are walking down the street and are listening to music with their phone on speaker mode??". I use headset.
