Microsoft thinks it's a good idea to put ads in your Windows 10 File Explorer

08 March 2017
Coincidentally or not (definitely not), the ads are for the company's OneDrive cloud storage service.

I am still using Win 10 on my unlicensed Desktop OS. It was free upgrade till end of 2016 I think. That's great.
Now it's only for licensed user. Microsoft is facing a battel between maintaining Market share and keeping profitability. Giving free Win 10 to everyone was the most painful decision that have ever taken. Companies like Microsoft never give anything free or cheap. That's how they survive and bring top class product. This ad thing is making up for the loss made on free Win 10 OS.

Eske Rahn, 09 Mar 2017Correction: "Windows 10 was NEVER free you dummy..." ..... moreNo, windows 10 was free for a long time. I upgraded to win 10 from unlicensed win 7 and using it since last 7 or 8 months. But I think they have stopped free upgradation for unlicensed older OS as I am not able to upgrade on my laptop now. Don't be too quick to judge.

Its not "ads" its improving user experience, ads are when they show other company promos and get paid for it. Besides android also gives warnings about apps they are jelous of like esfile explorer. Microsoft may be abit frustrated but they are very respectable.
