AnonD-151, 05 Mar 2011Well I don't know if you have a smartphone but you have to ... morei have a smartphone ,its xperia x8 ,let the nokia windows phone 7 come to the market,we really need an operating system after symbian that could save us from android and can also save battery life of the phone

I HATE MOTOROLA!.. seriously, had two devices, V3x Razr and Flipout. seemed like good prices at the start but they fail.. crappy battery life on both phones, VERY poor video camera. (V3x low frame rates) (flipout, Colours blurred) but it is what you get for a moderate price, but honestly even the Samsung GT i550 (something like that) is like 1 million times better and it has Froyo as well as a cheaper price TAG!!!... compare $400 NZD vs. $280 for a phone like that..
Overall I don't like Motorola, Go with other companies that are with android since they've done a better job and care about the consumer

AnonD-2881, 05 Mar 2011@Eric ,just tell me one thing if the companies don't want t... moreWell I don't know if you have a smartphone but you have to admit that there are all over.iOS is maybe one of the simplest OS around and I can see why people want that kind of OS.But Android is also great an I would recommend to anyone. It really is simple and great in what it can do.I agree that you should buy a phone based on your preferences but I think that Samsung moto has taken over :"Smartphones for everyone"

Eric, 05 Mar 2011Honestly I don't even know why this is a big deal for peopl... more@Eric ,just tell me one thing if the companies don't want to give updates on the phone then why do they sell it so costly,i mean For example: if a person has a java enabled phone or symbian enabled phone or windows enabled phone with great high end configuration for $100 then why another phone which is android enabled and of same configuration is sold so costly as $400,if this trend continuous more and more people will loose there trust on these companies, and for me the next phone i will buy will not be because of what android OS it has got but will be because what configuration it has got because all the companies suck in giving android updates, and i think the same thinking should be followed by all the people who are going to buy there next phone, don't get attracted towards android, just ask yourself what do u want in your phone ? if you want great audio quality and video quality then go for sony ,if you want great battery backup and 24 hr music playback then go for nokia for the rest companies like motorola ,samsung and LG ,i just dont know what are they good at,they just dont have one thing like sony and nokia in which they are good at,they are just floating in the market with the help of android ,rest they are nothing good, anyway just buy a phone which fullfills your requirement dont get attracted to this android thing

i think atleast for now google should kick in and should release minimum requirements for any device which is planned to be released and should directly release firmware updates like microsoft model and like apple or android users who are feeling neglected will not buy future android devices and ultimately go for ios way . really google you need to tighten the knot , enough free open source now make some rules for everyday popping androids with so many styles, these companies are making joke of smartphone platform.

Honestly I don't even know why this is a big deal for people. You don't buy a low end phone and expect the latest and greatest updates for the device. There were so many people with the original T-Mobile myTouch that kept complaining about not getting Froyo and when they finally recieved it there were countless problems and slowdowns because the phone couldn't handle it. If you bought a Charm, don't expect it to run and do the same stuff that other 1ghz phones can do.

Anonymous, 05 Mar 2011This is why I won't ever buy a android phone :DThis is why I'm considering getting a WP7 Nokia or an iPhone. The update process is a PITA. With an iPhone, I am guaranteed to get updates for two years on the same day the update is released. I'm still inclined to get an LG O3D though just because I want cutting edge technology.

Hardly surpring. What I learned as Motorola Milestone owner is that customer "after service" is more important than the fancy features on the paper during release. For this reason and reason alone, I recomend to avoid Motorola products at all cost.

Now stop crying babes... what is so bad about not getting Froyo?? Eh? Do you actually what the update entails or are you just upset that you're not getting upgraded.... so the sad feeling of having an "old" hand set?!? Come on, be honest... But you know what... BE HAPPY... Android 2.1. is still a great OS, if you would upgrade to 2.2. your mobiles would not cope... so be happy having a smooth running handset with a not so up to date OS instead of a crappy running phone with the latest OS.... I know what I would go for and the Moto flip is pretty cool device... even without Froyo, so stop frowning

Dee, 04 Mar 2011I always thought moto phones were garbage and now I think t... moreWell, actually MOTO phones always have the best quality, even the cheap ones, because MOTO always use metal so, if you think that their phones suck, that is just prejudice... (you can't even compare the obvious flipout vs SE X10 mini pro, I had both and the SE has the most nasty build quality ever!) On the software side, well, that's another story, yeah, this suck and they suck for this! But on the other hand, the other are exactly the same, low end phones never get upgrade... THAT SUCKS!

this sucks! How motorola is looking to better market position, if they are telling us not to rely on them.
