LG G6 is a quality phone but it's battery life is not strong enough for data

Hello I currently thinking of buying a G6 since it is really cheap now. My only concern is the battery life. I've read so many comments and posts which where all a bit controversial. Could somebody give me an honest opinion regarding the battery life of the g6? I mostly use the phone to watch youtube videos and some gaming. My expectation is to get around 6-7h of sot on wifi and around 5 on mobile data.

I know its not the production model but it seems like 18% battery increase is what you get overall. Not sold on G6 completely just yet. Will wait on S8 battery life.Ughs.

It's a decent score, I'd say. But it's still not as great as LG's past 2013 offerings (think G2 and G Flex).

Though the display is fine... moreFor sure the ips screens are just not as good as amoled screens , i have had a couple of galaxies ....the later one my note 4 which i still use(still a beautiful super amoled screen ), a 6p with a 2k samoled , and the lg g5 ips lcd 1440 ,
i have to say if your last consideration came down to screens , and you have spent a good amount of time with both types , you would go amoled every single time .

And battery packs aren't as small or as thin as just a battery. With the G5 you can carry the very small and thin battery as is in your pocket and don't even feel it there. The problem is here you are LIMITED to 3300mah whereas with the G5 you essentially have 5600mah (2800mah x 2). The non-removable battery is such a let down for me.

GSM ARENA uses the same brightness to all (in nits). Also their browser test is some text websites , so it's not very indicative of actual browsing. G5 is uglier, but a better phone overall (better front camera, more detailed back camera, more battery due to the ability of carrying spares).

I'm a korean. I just got my G6 recently. This is amazing phone LG has ever made.
My previous phone was iphone 6s.
My wife uses G5.
G6 is much brighter than G5. I'm not sure how G6 battery is tested here.
But if 100% brightness is used, its unfair.
Above URL is korean community to test battery life with same brightness.
As you see G6 shows 2h longer than G5 on wifi browsing.
And I feel the same on this. My G6 can last longer than G5

High-end flagship price tag, previous gen SoC, small battery, under perform SoT, useless longer screen with weird ratio that nobody using, black bars when watch movies because of the said ratio and maybe or maybe not another bootloop hell.
There're many and much better choices for money. Not sure why anyone want to pay that much for this phone.

Better battery life than other LG phones maybe but still disappointing. A deal breaker for me I'm afraid, much as I was attracted to the look of this phone. I am used to Xiaomi phones that last 2 to 2.5 days on one charge with their 4100 mAh batteries. I've been spoiled and can never go back to one-day battery devices, regardless of other features they may have.

Like you. Fast charging is not an excuse or replacement for longer battery life. Doesn't mean it should all be sealed away either.
This goes for battery capacity, camera sensor size, headphone Jack's, even away from cellphones things like landlines. Apparently with nothing to actually replace it the country is ready to completely do away with phone lines that work during emergencies with power outtages.because you know....cable

What's making me scratch my head is that visitors playback time.
Decently bigger battery, improved scores else where, improved throttling and heat control on the SoC....but almost the same in video playback... what happened?

JackTheIPhoneKiller, 13 Mar 2017This! :-DI have an LG phone, the Nexus 5. Though the display is fine, using it in the dark is pretty poor as it is too bright but the blacks are gray. If I have a money for a G6, I'd choose the S7 Edge or be broke if the reviews for the S8 impresses me enough.
