Anonymous, 13 Mar 2017get rip of LG after purchased LG optimus G Pro, slow firmwa... moreUpdate is important but no need to be "Update Hunger". I've attended one seminar that the speaker is ex-Google and he said 4x update (big update = 400mb-1.6gb) is enough for new phone for her first year. Second year 1-4x/year. But now we have option and can choose custom ROM if not please with OEM ROM.

TBH you got point and its true, LG give good service in first to second year, later same to same as big Player, tend to forget old devices.

get rip of LG after purchased LG optimus G Pro, slow firmware update.
After one year of purchased, no more firmware update support for old model. Sigh.
My xiaomi redmi note 2 still manage to get latest firmware update after almost 3 years using it.

And that´s what I´m talking about.....That´s LG my friends!!! Extremly good looking phones, but dismal batery life results.....And tht´s why any other buyer would choose other brand rather than LG....

I´m sorry but 72H endurance it´s not up to 2017 standards.....

zodiacfml, 13 Mar 2017Conclusion......get an S7 Edge instead. Indeed! The Galaxy S7 Edge is a much better buy at this point. Enjoying mine, getting 6-8hours SOT in Nougat easily.

LOL at the people who think they know the final capacity of the S8 battery. Unless you have a prototype with you rather keep quiet and stop spewing rubbish. :)

So people are seriously happy with this? G6 is obviously a nose dive after the barely better camera, now we're getting into the "barely better" battery territory, but hold on, it's not removable.

So say goodbye in restoring your original battery's autonomy after a year or so (too much of a hassle when sealed, just pop in a new one when it is removable).

Forget topping your battery to 100% instantly (merely by having had a spare charging while you were using your phone)

Oh and forget increasing or even doubling your battery capacit either by buying a bigger/better aftermarjet battery and/or carrying a spare.

In two words G6 doesn't seem to be shaping up well. From what is already out, it's barely and upgrade and in some things it's a shocking downgrade. I wonder why/how LG thought they would be kept afloat by such a half hearted attempt.

I'll await for the rest of the review but I'm not expecting to be blown away, one of the most underwhelming experience for years. LG used to be one of the last interesting companies that tried new and interesting things ... too bad.

Not too impressive. Not terrible, not great. Of course, I don't think the S8 will be too impressive either, with an S7 sized 3000mah battery driving a 5.8" and screen.

And 5.7" size is not like note 7 in my opinion, it is more like G6 i.e a longer, 1:2 version of a 5.2" screen. At least it is apparent from "tall" renders of S8.

Just imagine how much of a difference would have a 3500-3600 mah battery made? I mean seriously, how difficult it was to put in a battery of that size? That would have hardly required them 1 mm of thickness at max.
LG, always not so Good. Always doing their ugly thing.

AnonD-523334, 12 Mar 2017S8 won't have any better battery life than s7 in my opinion. From 5.1 to 5.7 inch on same 3000mah?
                                It will be much worse.
Actually, besides video time, Galaxy S series dont fare much better than LG....standby time is miserable, and battery optimization is poor, so video time does not help much.
Users with S7 edge even complaining about getting bad SoT of 5 hr, and SoT is the best battery performance measure as it measures operating maH consumption and screen active scenario....which is what matters most to end user.
That ridiculously low same Always on time on both S7 and LG G6 tells much about standby power consumption of both.
