No they didn't. Jesus. The tech media literally just makes up rumors and when it turns out they're wrong they just blame everyone else.
Every company is doing research into technology that at some point may or may not be implemented. Having random spurious rumors make their ways around the echo chambers doesn't have any actual impact on reality.
Remember when all the tech media claimed the S7 would have a dual camera? And when they were wrong articles were written about how Samsung tried to copy Apple but failed so they scrapped the idea. Then they claimed the S8 wouldnt have a headphone jack because you know, the media needs to put the idea out there that Samsung always mindlessly copies Apple especially when it makes zero sense. And when the S8 still had an audio jack, no one was surprised at all.
The finger print sensor is fine in the back. While it's cool and all to have it embedded in the screen ultimately everyone just gets used to it anyway. It becomes muscle memory and you don't even think about it.
There are a billion other things that matter so much more. The focus on the finger print sensor is so lazy it's hilarious.

And no, I don't hate Apple cuz im a fan boy. Because Apple makes crap phones. I'm not talking about tablet, or mac, or desktop, BUT PHONES. A ip7plus owner myself. That's due to note 7 tragic. I gave it a try until Note 8 is out. But guess what? I'm buying S8 as soon as it comes out. Cuz my iphone just got a cracked screen by dropping at 1 feet high on terrazzo floor, with $10 tempered glass screen protector. Matte black paint chipping off on the edges. And not to mention the overheat while surfing internet.
Here is the fun fact. Almost every famous youtube reviewers lie about iPhone reviews

likely to be $100 cheaper, soon to be ... moreI would hope the g6 comes sooner and costs less. It uses less expensive components and ones that are really available.
However unless the reviews show some stellar results in display performance in brightness, contrast, and sunlight as well as power consumption...then there really is not much to justify even the price they are asking.

looks like LG won
likely to be $100 cheaper, soon to be out, and would be even more cheaper by the time samsung GS8 comes out.
The only thing different is that samsung has the better chipset, but its not even a necessary upgrade. Its not a PC war after all.

If they do such crappy work and software for TVs sold for 2000-3000 dollars why do we expect quality in a phone sold for 500-1000 dollars, all they did it was to make a brand name, aggressively eliminate the competition and create a community of believers who hate other brands thus to advertise for them for free their unfinished shady products.

No matter how Samsung innovates if the market or the consumers isn't buying it or if it doesn't have a huge impact then it is still nothing (for now). Unlike Apple which reintroducing innovations and getting it right and the market will accept and follow. It has been proven and tested. It doesn't matter what you say to them as long as they are earning and making money, then your opinion is irrelevant. After all, all of the EOMs came for business and for money.

JMTM, 15 Mar 2017I still remember android users were laughing at iPhone 5S' ... morestill remember apple saying 3.5" optimum screen size.No video calls, no multitasking no common bluetooth sharing, saying lcd was better than samoled, maaaaaaaasive bezells yet, still having the paid press calling thier phones premium ,etc etc etc lol. iphone=cashcow = no R and D expenses. A 2003 motorola a1000 had more than apple till Samsung forced them to compete.

saying that is nothing new and many phones have tried such as Moto Atrix and it was
useless... before even using Apple's
And look around now... its hard to find a phone that does not have one
Samsung can put it there if they can... but they will most likely screw up
until Apple or Google gets it right
