Underscreen fingerprint scanner wasn't ready in time for Galaxy S8

Doesn't matter. Underscreen fingerprint scanner is still far from being perfected for now. We all know what happened if manufacturer rush on new tech. Nothing good comes out of it. We might see it on iphone 7s/8 the earliest but I also do suspect to see it on Note8. Both will be unveiled around the same time anyway.

Apple wouldn't rely to face/iris scanner because you need to look your device to use those, it's not handy at all. Those are nice extra ways to open your phone, but nothing beats the touch id on front of the phone, and Apple knows that very well.

And yeah they are still going for a lesser bezels design with oled display for a more expensive version which will be named iphone x most probably which will be launched with typical iPhone 7s with no oled display. Iphone 7s and plus will still have fingerprint scanner but the iPhone X will just have face recognition and an iPad pro like stupid functional area. It's when they'll really go for this version. As I said Underscreen fingerprint scanners won't come before 2018.

Hopefully the Note 8 will implement the fingerprint sensor under the screen, the Note 7 did add an Iris Scanner which the S7 never had so there is a chance.

No they arent, they are going to put in under the screen, if they can't do that, they wouldn't do bezeless version of iPhone, because it's not worth it. Samsung also should have kept the bezell for fingerprint scanner because now they are going years backwards in usability. I wonder what users like about that.

Qualcomm's solution actually works. I have no idea why Samsung went with synaptics.

Atleast the fingerprint scanner is still there if you don't want to use the iris scanner all the time. Apple is going to completely remove the fingerprint scanner for face recognition in the more expensive iPhone 8/X/pro. There might be a functional area for smileys and quick settings. Underscreen fingerprint scanners won't be in before 2018.

I do not see so much use in the sensor being on the screen or in a dedicated key. It's a new issue, not useful.

They just realized that putting a Finger print scanner behind the phone was Dumb Idea
But Still I gotta admit I'm quite Impress that Sammy took a risk in making that Decision and taking a Bold Move
And Also I would like to point out that Apple is no good copying machine
