Android allows different skins on top of the default OS. If you think the tiles UI of WP is good, well go ahead and apply a tile home screen on the android. Xiaomi has implemented the UI for elderly and my mum is comfortable with her android using the skin. On the other hand, throwing all the squares and rectangles to someone who is not familiar to smart phones, windows 10 may not be that user friendly too. The layout of the tiles are so confusing at times. IMO, having icons are the best and more familiar UI regardless of ages.
As for stability, Android came a long way, just like how Windows is. Windows 10 is built on so many iterations of past windows and that's why it is a stable as rock OS now. I don't have any stability issue with Android so far (Android L, M & N). However, playing with Windows 10 on my 640 XL is quite a headache. Windows stores and apps are launching slow. Sometimes, apps just crash out (even with MS apps). Doing app updates via Windows stores are taking ages too. Cortana still unavailable in my region as compared to Google Assistance. And to make things worse, I'm not seeing any new improvement to Continuum anymore - everything is just so quiet. Who knows if MS decided to drop this feature too sooner or later.

So it is good enough. Their are a lot of android user that should never use android, but the world ist to dung to comprehend this. I see them everyday, they have no clue how to use android and worse they do what the system tells them to. Android is for people who actually get what is going on their and want to edit, crack and hack the hell out of this system and have time to do it, too. Windows should be for people who have less experience with smartphones but still want to use one, a good fast one. Of course i am not claiming windows should not be used by other type of people, i am reffering to all of this in general. Ios is good for kids, that way parents can control their kids better. Even tough, the way apple works is unortodox and plain outrageus, pretty much like every company nowadays

Well, let me tell you something: Nope, they won't. Apple was pretty convinced their crappy tablets will do that some time ago. They actually dared to call pc dead, ignorant. Well, they are the least use in the world. Of course they are. Who needs to go, uses a smartphone, who needs to work, uses a pc. Going back to Smartphones, they are actually gonna fade away, and sadly, only ms is gonna come after the corner, cause they are already their. Apple are for kids. Ms are for everybody and Google? Well, they will always keep doing money with stealing people's data ("with their accordance") and sell it to companies. Anyway, their is yet no device that will replace the pc, will probably never be, at least not for the ten years to come.

They don't even care about their customers but they know they have to do enough to keep them so always just give the bare minimum then convince people that they don't need more and it guarantee their next sale. Completely agree with you. Just to add that Microsoft are so blind, that they can't understand that without mobile, there is no future for them. Yes, now they are big - PC OS, Office etc, but looking at the market development, after 10 years, Microsoft will be just a shadow of current company.

Microsoft did not ban Firefox or anything. The system simply was not prepared for it. WP7 came really early and it had it's features. One of them was that browsers could only use the IE core...
I don't know what you mean with the camera. It had the same features as N808... With Lumia camera even more, than with Windows original camera app. And it was still Nokia, no MS.
The compatibility only failed once, when 7 turned to 8 and the system was completely rewritten to work with multicore CPUs.
No phone OS had reached parity with Symbian and probably never will. None of them can start alarm on a turned-off phone. None of them has a real multitasking.
The rest is just childish. Yes, Skype is far better than Hangouts, Outlook beats GMail in almost everything. And yes, for me Bing works better, than Google, which is just full of stupid ads. Good for children and for shopping maniacs, but not for real work."
Listen nephew, I worked for Nokia at the time and have since moved on. I might have a bit of a clue.
There were two transitions that made people weary of developing for anything Microsoft Mobile. The Windows Mobile 6.5 -> Windows Phone 7 transition required developing new apps. Then that Windows Phone 7 ecosystem was completely abandoned for Windows Phone 8. Developers got burned twice in three years by Microsoft.
There was a scaling co-processor with PureView 808 that helped with image sampling. Microsoft did not give the Lumia 1020 team access to the low-level API's needed to interface with the co-processor, and it had to be removed from that device. Thus the PureView 808 was a superior device to the Lumia 1020, despite the later coming with the more "modern" Windows Phone ecosystem and being released almost a year later.
What did that tell other phone manufacturers? Nokia bet its entire future on Microsoft, and Microsoft wouldn't give its then largest stakeholder full access to the operating system. Other hardware manufacturers started avoiding Microsoft like the plague after that development. Microsoft was still acting like the late 90's bully that got Antitrust violations. Today there is exactly one non-Microsoft phone manufacturer that is betting big on Windows Mobile, and that is HP, who thought there might be an enterprise space niche market with the collapse of BlackBerry. However, what they are finding is that Active Directory is not nearly as important as it was ten years ago and it is more of a trusted LDAP authentication service these days for enterprise solutions. BYOD is a thing, and it's a lot easier to just let people use Citrix on their iPhones. Thus, the heavy discounts on the HP Elite x3 phone.
Microsoft was never developer friendly with its mobile ecosystem. They wouldn't let Mozilla develop a competent browser for their platform because OMG Internet Explorer is the future, and that lack of openness killed any momentum the platform would have had. Not Mozilla per se, but just the fact that developers saw no reason to develop for another closed platform when 1) there was no telling how long it would be before a platform update required extensive re-writes of backend code and 2) iOS and Android were more profitable.
Keep lying to yourself that Windows is a superior mobile platform and that it's always somebody else's fault that it is not successful. The free market has spoken.

Android and IOS didn't squeeze out WP. Microsoft destroyed the WP. There hasn't been a new Lumia phone for over 2 years. WP8.1 is out of updates for almost 2 years and WP10 is still not ready. Microsoft is a terrible company, lead by saboteurs.

The main reason in my opinion as to why Windows Phone/Mobile is failing is because Microsoft itself does not care about this operating system. They invest almost no resources in developing the OS yet they expect to sell many Microsoft phones. Their strategy clearly shows no involvement on the smartphone market and that results in the following question: If Microsoft does not care about this OS, why customers should? Comment posted by a former Windows Phone user who actually enjoyed using it.

Google is doing the "Bait and trap" thing, They know you young folk want to hip, cool , trendy things and don't know anything about security, so they play to that. We older folks have seen this all before(we got caught too) and have learned from our mistakes.....that's why we use Outlook over Gmail. Plus Outlook is easier to use at home , in the office and on the go. MS Outlook was first a private service that went public....Google has always been public. By using Google Gmail...do you know how many other people are reading your emails??

If you are using an android phone, can you say your phone is secure, bet you can't. Plus how many types of a music players, cameras, new readers, launchers, etc do you need....I only need 20-30 to choose from, not a 200 ! I don't have the time to try all of them or be to worried that they are not spy/malware. Google allows anyone to place an app in the play store as along as they get their cut of the money or data. It's a buyer beware situation with the play store.
