How about lowering the price on 3310 since it only supports the ancient 2G connectivity? Would that be a good start?

Elbowing out Apple, Samsung, Huawei? Easier said than done. I'm happy with my Xiaomi Mi5 and not expecting to get another one for 5 or more years. My previous phone was Sony Xperia S which i used for 5+ years. So unless Nokia make a phone with compelling specifications and jaw dropping design i won't be buying just for the sake of brand loyalty.

You cannot aim for the top 3 without a proper flagship. Until then, that's just quick bucks from midrangers.

AnonD-168952, 20 Mar 2017Top 3? And my I ask how you want to achieve that goal since... moreI agree with you. Using the Nokia name is a marketing tactic with apparently some former Nokia employees employed by HMD to try to lend credibility to the tactic. So, either HMD makes devices that people want or not, despite the naming.

Top 3? And my I ask how you want to achieve that goal since the only thing about you being Nokia is the name Nokia? It was not the name Nokia which made the brand so successful over past years, but its innovations. Todays Nokia phones are missing all the stuff that Nokia was famous and loved for: PureView camera and Carl Zeiss lenses, ClearBlack Display and Glance Screen, Xenon Flash, Great and durable Design but also goodies like FM-Transmitter. There's nothing special about Nokia anymore, it's just another "chinese" smartphone OEM.

The first plan would hopefully be changing the 3310 to work on 3g network. Not just on gsm, as it is now.
