Updated to 2.2 last night ... at long long long last!!! The interface seems nice and snappy once it gets going but a BIG problem for me is the length of time (about 20 seconds!) the phone takes to reload the homescreen after exiting apps (browser, games etc). Anyone else having the same problem or able to suggest a solution? (I'm not even running a live wallpaper). Thanks

I think this update is available only in Europe. I live in China, bought my phone in Hong Kong. No update yet.

The user interface is faster in some apps and slower in others (for example scrolling through contacts is smoother but scrolling through the call log is worse). They changed the keyboard to a custom one and also the unlock slider is modified. The browser works ok but it has some scrolling issues (for example the mobile hp site does not scroll). Flash is working ok, but not for videos. I noticed a big improvement in the camera, it handles better low light.

Anonymous, 16 Mar 20112.2 adds absolutely no functional improvement over 2.1 when... moreNo functional improvement? What are you talking about.
The Milestone CPU with froyo will allow adobe flash, apps to SDCard, wifi hotspot.
How is that not functional improvement?

Where is my froyo update HTC..???
I rooted my phone and gain hotspot capability, but I dunno how to install custom ROM, too complicated!!!
Capability to save to SD card would be nice.

Plz don't upgrade your Milestone to Froyo. I really wanna back to Eclair if i can, Loading the widget on Homescreen take much longer and delay, but new qwery screen keyboard looks nice but not really necessary with Milestone cause we already have physical keyboard. anyway if i were you waiting till next version or keep your eclair.

Can't believe this... it took almost a year for an update to Froyo and even now there are problems. What can I say : true Motorola experience.

2.2 adds absolutely no functional improvement over 2.1 when implemented on a non compatible processor.

I tried upgrading my milestone using the link that they have (froyo upgrade Philippines). They have that warning bout the phone being sluggish in some of their tests, but I don't care for all I want is the froyo.
BUT the problem is, when I clicked on the link, and checked if my phone has the latest OS, it says yes. BUT it is still 2.1.1. I thought I made a mistake in clicking so I went back to the whole thing but the same result. Bottom line is, the link failed or that they are not yet ready to give the updated OS.
Moto I'm disappointed! :(

I hope you can get a review on the updated Milestone so people can know if the scary caveat clause in the update should be ignored or not. my friend still has his Milestone at 2.1 so he'll probably wanna know if this one is worth trying. Thanks.
