To be fair, the rumored price (mentioned in the poll) proved higher than the official retail price.

It's mostly a reboot of S7 with better looks (arguable), it's a moderate upgrade at best. For example just upgrading the SoC does not cut it anymore, especially if you keep the same battery despite the bigger screen... so it makes sense that people were less than enthusiastic,costing 800 or 850 makes little difference , what matters is that it lacks the excitement that old Galaxies had.
