Now i know where my money go...

Someone should produce a smartphone with a display similar to Samsung at a lower price as they don't have Samsung's marketing expense. The Xiaomi Mi Mix is very close but I want an OLED display

Actually Apple got all the profit of the whole smartphone industry, Samsung, got a tiny smidgen, and the rest PAID to be in business lol.

Apple's expense cannot be showed. Because almost all of it went to Note 7's battery supplier leads.

It's a part of business i suppose, not that i know anything about. Please do not mention one plus and xiaomi as they are very small and even if they manage to topple the market, they would do the same.

I don't pay for ghostwriters or trolls, but it seem Samsung make a lot effort on this. 1.6 BILLION! Such a waste and betray the consumers.

Makes sense , they also decreased their R&D costs ... it's basically the only way to create a rabid following for second rate products posing as first rate.

I bet you that without Samsung's paycheck very few would support this company here. The very mass of people refusing logic in here is proof positive that marketing works more than innovation.

So smart of them. Of course -eventually- another player will eat them alive, but until then they would be milking the market and some people would feel grateful -even- fro being ripped off from Samsung.

Well, it could lower the prices of smartphones, but then it would not profit as much. And marketing is part of a large company.Principally the one that caters to the end consumer.

NokiaBeast, 05 Apr 2017That's more than Apple's profit in the same yearApple gains way more profit from their products than Samsung does, though. Of course Samsung gains more profit in total numbers, still. Samsung is a giant company with hellalot more products ( they sell war ships, Laptops, TVs, Smartphones, etc. ). Considering how much more products are sold by Samsung, the 2 billion $ Apple spends for marketing each year sounds like a lot.
