I would just like to know will this model replace the original Tab 10.1 (p7100) or will samsung be selling both?

from my experience of cell phones which has been longer than a decade now...i must say...samsung which a few years back was merely able to hold its stand and boasted a symbian embedded device as its flagship,it has come a long way so much so that its slapping newer and better devices right into apple's face.it has matched if not surpassed the touch user experience of apple and clearly offers abetter display than that of apple.for those guys who call samsung a copy cat,admit ur point but you must notice that it offers you that similar premium finish of apple in the tablet reign alon with host lot of practical life features with the much better honeycomb at the same price tag,just a worthy camera and not amere .7 mp for the namesake.ios today still is an os for phone and ipad2 still daigger iphone whereas android has matured with honeycomb..u must have it to believe i must say.also for countries where apple neglects the first launch slot,samsung clearly has a win win situation there..10.1 is meaner than the ipad2..just compare and you will know waht i am talking about.apple seems girly where as samsung +honeycomb is robust...yeah also what i didnt like much is that they have cut the camera full throttle by 5 mpx.since i wudnt prefer a slim waistline rather than a 8 mpx camera i wud have preferred the original 10.1 announced at th mwc 2011..it had an 8 mpx with full 1080p rec.so that was quite too brutal..but than they had to maintain the price of ipad2.so vodafone uk customers arent in a loss if thought about camera.also they will receive updates sooner than their younger bros who hav touchwiz 4 sewn ..and atlast its us the customers who win and enjoy the cut throat competition..cheers!

from my decade long experience what i ve seen,merely years ago samsung didnt even stand at bottom ,it used to flaunt symbian embedded fones as their flagship and look now android has revived it to an extent,that its slapping apple right in the face.i must admit samsung today hhas the touch experience as good as apple.for me samsung's marketing strategy works because it gives you apple's premium finish at aconsideralbe pirce probably lesser than apple's as its a matter of time samsung's price falls with time..and also they have a upper hand with host of features more than the ipad 2..but personally i would have preferred the tab 10.1 announced at the mwc 2011 as it had 8mp hd recorder now look it is just 3mp that of original tab..for me slim waist line is less preferred than a loss of 5 mp in camera..so i dont feel vodafone uk customers are in a loss.also they will receive updates sooner as they dont have touchwiz ui,pure honeycomb...
In many countries where ipad2 will arrive almost a year later,samsung definitely has a win win situation...last but not the least..its us the customers always on the winning side...cheers!

Samsung flooding the market with their copy cat products just to earn more profit! What's the idea of even making several types of tablets. Let me guess hmmmm ya I got it, useless!
I'd pick up a ipad2 any day any time any where! Even the xoom is miles ahead these crappy products.

For who said that the touchWiz UX will slow the update, then you are wrong. The TouchWiz UX is only optional for who want it, it can be download later and not ship with the hardware.Basically this tablet are pure google.Want proof? watch the video from slashgear at youtube...

galaxy tab 10.1 was originally an 8mp primary camera...so what happened here? only 3mp camera now?

You should learn to read. Custom UIs are possible, this is not Microsoft.

Just look at what Apple is doing to the other companies. They are forced to change their products completely to compete with ipad. 10.1 was recently annouced with completely different hardware. Samsung had to change the camera to 3 megapixel from 8 megapixel to reduce the price.

KUDOS to Samsung! They managed to change the design quickly in order to win the competition. Too bad for Vodafone users though :D Hope they can get a refund.

samsung fooled everyone when it teases with the earlier and thicker version of its 10" galaxy tab. it's obviously just a ploy. maybe they just want to see what steve jobs would say or do.
