I agree that buying 'future proof' devices is a smart thing, that's why I personally wont buy a smartphone without a dual core processor at this moment. Soon all the awesome games on Android will be made for Dual Core processors, so you dont want to feel outdated within a few months.

Now 3D is another thing. 3D is in VERY early stages I think. Now that the HTC EVO 3D is launching in the USA it will start growing... but I think you won't really need 3D for at least another year.

Plus, the Galaxy S II offers a Super AMOLED + screen.. you wont get that on the LG 3D

I have seen on in real life (Super Amoled, not plus) and it really is amazing.

Beowulf, 23 Mar 2011Quit the bullsh1t... I'm sick of the usual reviews. Does it... moreSpeaking as a british SGS 1 user my device is lag free and has fully functional GPS running on android 2.2. as do 3 of my colleagues, I work in a phone shop and android 2.3 gingerbread update is due for the SGS 1 soon, I assume you left it on 2.1? (wich in my experience still had just a little lag and no GPS issue)

as for the SGS 2 it does have an LED flash on board, an issue with this handset I would say is the price however you would only be paying similar price to an iPhone 4 32GB wich in fact has much worse specs.

                      Looking AMAZING...
I have a Samsung G1 and it's the best phone I've ever had - and Samsung are the first company to actually update their handsets in a timely fashion (I had an HTC Hero before this and it got an update once in a year) - G1 is getting Gingerbread in a few weeks and since it's had 2.2.1 and a further update, the phone is slicker than ever!

It does have an LED flash (G2) and is certainly looking to be the handset to beat...

Wish they'd do a "pro" version and do a slide out keyboard with it! (you can never get good slide-out keyboards without sacrificing specs)

The beach and the water movement look pale! or is it just my laptop screen??

wow 1080p recording is really impressive, allthough it has no more than 10fps currently. Hopefully they will fix that on rtail units.

Too expensive though, Sammy. I bet you can take decent pictures, and have a decent browsing experience with other cheaper phones. Not everyone records a video at 1080p from a phone. Probably only the rich who wants "the best of the best" will go for this phone. Oh, and owning this phones gives you the right to brag about it too.
