Samsung hemorrhaged millions of $'s because of the Note7 & will have made every effort possible to ensure this device doesn't go the same way.
Best in mind there's no stylus to squeeze in to this device.

I had a screen issue with my S7Edge - they repaired it and replaced the front screen a bunch of internals & most of the exterior including the frame,buttons & ports for free. Did it all in less than a week.

It seems to be much better.
The Xperia flagship of MWC 2018 will bring OLED screen made by Japan Display ( Sony is one of the owners).
So there is a chance to see a phone without speakers..
LG and Samsung have always been a popular brand. Both have products for everyone, no matter your social level.
Sony has always been different, their stuff cost more...
In my country the best Samsung tv costs around $5000. A few Sony tvs cost more than $ 18000
Not american dollars, our money I mean...

Good example will be OnePlus, good value for money yet lacking in sale

Sony does not care about marketshare. The company wants to know how much $ can be earned per unit..
Lets suppose the XZ costs 180USD to be built ( I do not know the real price).
For Sony is better to sell 2 million XZ per 600USD than 5 million units 500USD each device.
It would be 100USD more per unit, no matter how many are sold.
Apple does that. But in many countries iPhone is considered fancy, like a Ferrari. Tons of people buy it, even those that cannot afford it. They go to the store and buy it anyway.
No matter how good any android may be, it is not considered fancy.

I will have to wait for the outcome from users' comments. Don't want to be trapped by another Note7 saga.
Besides, there is the much awaited Battery Test by gsmarena in the Review. That Batt Test result will be the deciding factor.

Look at Sony mobiles now, they stopped making flagships and the line ends with Z5.
Sony failed to innovate to catch the attention of the ever evolving technology world. Forget Sony, they are just good in making earphones only.

G6 is crap, LG has no discipline in term of making phones, every year they try something completely different, while the Samsung S series is solid and improving and follows the same design language.

So much for your Sony taking down Apple and Samsung. Forget about reaching iPhone's sales figures, First let your Xperias sell as much as Galaxy S alone or atleast Galaxy Notes. Total mobile sales for Sony in 2016 is approximately 19-20 million which is just half of what Galaxy S7/S7E managed in the same year. And about Sony taking down Apple! Every other Android OEM's dream. Brand value wise Sony has lot of it but still their phones are underselling. Why because nobody is liking their designs that much other than Sony's fanboys. Quality reflects sales. As simple as that.

Now at half or 2/3rds the asking price it could possibly be a good phone to buy, a "slightly better version of S7E or sth"... But it's not flagship level. Oneplus 4, Mi Mix 2, Note 8 ... would tear it apart and are all veeery few months apart from this phone.
