Gimmicks like "edge sense technology" or edge screen, etc should add to original experience, I mean their significance should be like "cherry on the cake" not like they are the only thing for which you are buying the phone. The success of s7 edge is based on this simple rule, coz without curved screen, it was better than others overall, and curved display was "cherry on the cake" for many (though not for me) . or oneplus 3/T, which was a good phone in its own, and the pricing is "cherry on the cake". Gone are the days when ppl used to buy flagships for one thing they love, for example boomsound speakers of M7. If you are asking for full flagship price, then your phone should have one of the best camera, display, build quality, audio quality, display, waterproofing, and one or two gimmicks, which seem to be useful or beautiful enough, like an extra camera, or a curved screen, or insane amount of ram, or a bezelless design. For example, if your phone is competing with s8, but have bigger bezels, then it's obvious that those bezels should have front facing speakers, or a speaker and fingerprint sensor, on TOP OF having the camera, display quality and battery life at least as good.

So, the dual front facing speakers are gone, hell, the single front facing speaker is also gone, they ditched the dual camera setup (which they pioneered), worst still, the metal craftsmanship for which we love HTC and which was one of the few things that I liked about 10, is also gone. Here comes a htc flagship which will have same specs as oneplus 5 on paper, a little better camera, and much worse battery life. Nothing special this time, the camera will be a usual 12MP camera which is going to be in almost every 2017 flagship, and a fragile body which changes shades, but you will have to slap a peice of plastic on it.

"The selling point of the U is the Edge Sense technology that lets users control many customizable actions with gestures that you perform on the device's metal frame."
So crappy of you HTC, if this is the only thing you could come up with.

          No headphone jack, GTFO.

i don't like it's design overall. from these bezels, thickness, and lack of front facing speakers.

That Edge Sense Tech and SD835 and all other staffs looks promising.

                  No brainiac like dots :(

If they wanted to succeed in the market, they also need to readjust their price to compete with the market (Doesn't need to be Oneplus or Xiaomi level, but at least lower than Samsung, LG and etc.)

HTC 10 looks a lot better with its aluminium body...and it's more durable than this glass body.

Asymmetrical bottom and top. No front facing speaker. Ugly home button. Low screen-to-body ratio. Its not 2017's phone.

So htc are not listening to us again with big bezels again the new benchmark has been set for screens they come back with this . They got to beat the competition not take a 2 year step back in time .

Let's hope its better then the HTC U Ultra

Seems pretty legit HTC, hope this becomes the game changer for HTC. This seems promising.
                                Don't disappoint me HTC :)
