S8+ beats all IPhone 7 apps in opening, iphone 7 is only slightly faster in opening games but that's understandable given Samsung's superior screed. If apple implements Quad HD with super AMOLED display and a more bulky OS and its faster then I would say its better. Consumers know this now that is why they are moving to Samsung.

Anonymous, 21 Apr 2017You are severely exaggerating here. Android runs very wel... moreI am not, i have used enough flagships to understand what really slow means. I suppose some people have a different perspective and perceveing. How would that be, low end android phones can barely drag themselves in most cases, even on Marshmallow or Nougat (if any exists, which i suppose it doesnt), your exaggerating when you mention lower speced phones being capable of working (there are exceptions, yes there are). A Galaxy S wouldnt even allow you to watch Youtube without having to wait 5 or 6 minutes to load the app and watch the video and that phone was a flagship 7 years ago.

Dual cameras seem to be a gimmick only as S8 plus image quality is far superior from any other dual camera phones available (Check it from photo comparison tool).
Dual Cameras does not improve image quality as heavily advertised by companies, but are only useful in very few occasions such as where wide angle shots or extra bokeh effect is desired.

The one big difference is the camera. The S8+ is a long way ahead in low and indoor light.
If you want the best mobile camera... get the S8/S8+.
Battery life is awesome. I'm getting over an hour screen on time (mixed use) for every 10% of battery.

Android runs very well through just about any app.
                  Even on lower end devices.

And that's how ios is supposed to be in theory but they are pretty similar in day to day app running.
Except that ios manages to have a huge lead in app crashes

I agree with ResolvePi, android can reach a lot more people compared to iphones because of its flexibility. So this unhealthy competition that we fanboys have cooked up is only important for the privileged idiots like us.

Anyway, Pocketnow yesterday reported that some Korean customers are complaining of bluish tint in their display. Any words on that?

AnonD-638825, 20 Apr 2017Experiences vary from people and many people will have used... moreAgreed re Google, but it's because they designed Android to run on budget phones, hence you can buy a pretty capable Alcatel Pop phone for £20 in Carphone Warehouse. (I know, I had one, and whilst it was dog slow, the battery lasted all week and it ran all the apps, such as Google Maps etc just as well as my Note 5, just a lot slower.) But phones like the Moto G that are still cheap at £150 are snappy and nice to use. Apple cannot even get close to that price point, yet a Moto G will do all an iPhone can do.

Google have enabled people in Africa and India to get a phone and make a huge difference to their local economies by enabling trade, communications in a manner not possible before. I remember reading that in most 3rd world countries, the mobile networks were their FIRST access to communications, they didn't even have landlines. No need to lay cables, just put up a few towers.

Android made this possible. And once the locals get rich, they will probably get an iPhone, just because they have heard all about them, a status symbol! To go with the Merc. :)

Anonymous, 20 Apr 2017I love iPhone! Cos i can resell it at a much higher price t... moreThat is if only you sell the iphone almost immediately. Smartphone resale prices take a hit as soon as the devices are removed from the box. The iPhone 7 lost 34% of its value one month after use, according a study by used-gadget sales site Decluttr, the smallest drop of any other brands flagship phones over a similar period. The Samsung Galaxy S7, which lost half its value in its first month on the market, for example, was the next best.

After one year on the market, Apple models lost an average of 57% of their value compared to a loss of 72% for Samsung and HTC phones. LG brought up the rear with a 75% loss of value after one year. After two years on the market, HTC models had lost 85% of their value, LG 84%, Samsung about 81% and Apple about 71%. These percentage is in general, includes all models.

If we were speaking of specific model, the iPhone 5 had lost 74% of its value after one year, the 5S lost only 59% and the 6S just 47% after the same amount of time. After four months on the market, the latest edition iPhone 7 has lost 38% of its value. However, Galaxy Note series is actually the only one that fares as good as iphone resale value. Note 5 for example, only lost 35% in the first three months. If anyone thinking of resale value for Samsung, better get yourself a Note series.

i almost read it "battery issues hit Galaxy S8"
