Anonymous, 25 Apr 2017The sensor used on Z3 (imx220) and XZ (imx300) are the big... moreYeah, the sensor is already big, but as a digital full frame camera manufacturer, they really need to stand out to the crowd in photography, just like the Nokia 808 and Lumia 1020 did. 1" sensor wouldn't be that bad - Nokia managed to fit it in on a 4.5" screen with no problems. Maybe not 1" right now, but that large sensor must be even larger, maybe at least 1/2"
Front camera is supposed to be only 1/3", not a half inch, and yep, Sony managed to fit that well inside of their phones. I don't think it would be really that hard I guess.
F1.0 would be ideal to work with that RGBC-IR sensor to pick up colors. And too much light coming in means they can use lower ISO even in low light. I guess another solution in low light photography is pixel fixing, where it'll turn noise into pixels back on the photos as they are pixel errors because of too much light sensitivity, but that would be tough, so large aperture with large pixel size and OIS+EIS would be ideal
Front speakers aren't as large as they seemed to be. Xperia XZ teardown reveals somewhat small speakers for that big bezels. Either they trim down the bezels or make the speakers larger, louder, and better sounding in order to justify a bit of that bezels.
They don't need to change the aspect ratio. They can keep the screen size to 5.2" but maintain the same aspect ratio and reduce the bezel size and it'll be a very compact phone with large screen like the LG G2 at least.
I didn't depict a bezel less sides of the phone - IMO those side bezels are neeeded. But the top and bottom must be reduced significantly instead

Have notification here for march patch.
Z4 is cooler than used to be in Lollipop. It is faster now. Antutu score is 88731. Z5 has heat pipes, so it can achieve 99000.
Battery is better. Even better after I stopped using auto brightness.
SoT is at least 330 minutes.
Apps do not reload, you can have 34 apps plus Real Racing 3 using multitasking. You still have like 500 MB free.
My phone is going to be 13 months old next week. It is much better than the day I got it.

I have the Xperia X and I get monthly security updates, unlike Motorola who only updated the G4 twice in 9 months. The Xperia X can overheat when using the camera to make videos, but it's rare. It'll warn you when it's hot.

App drawer is always stuck on the right side. Cant move to center.
My z4 has rgb control. S8 is the only galaxy to have it.

Even 3years of my experience, the Xperia still work fine, the Samsung just go lag everytime and the quality is cheaper, my friends use the Samsungs 70% facing drop damages and screen crack easiest is well known issue and the frame coating shed off too.

http://img... moreThe sensor used on Z3 (imx220) and XZ (imx300) are the biggest so far on a Xperia. They have 7.87 mm.
1 inch is 25.4 mm. It is more than 3 times the size. It might be as big as that halo we see on Moto Z.
Front cam with bigger sensor can not be fit if bezels are too small. It has to be placed above screen.
F1.0 is out of question.. Too much light would comes in. Colors would be really fake, always lighter than real ones.
Front speakers require more space. They are not used only for calls like on Samsung, LG or Apple..
Sony Mobile works according other Sony divisions. All content made by Sony Pictures and Play Station are 16:9, unless they change you will never see a 18:9 ugly Xperia.
The no side bezels of XA does not allow to use power as fingerprint.

http://img... moreThis one is simply imposible, anyone who know the fundamental phone internal design will be saying the same, fiting a 1" sensor in a phone will cause a camera bump and extra bezel at the top, a dedicated room for the sensor cause the thickness of the module, even using the thin amoled panel, even sony imx400 is already thick AF (thicker than already chuncky type 1/2.3 sensor) because of the extra memory stack
Nonetheless this is basically a design every smartphone engineer could dream of
