iPhone 8 allegedly runs Geekbench, destroys the competition

25 April 2017
Past iPhones, Samsung's newly released Galaxy S8 duo - none even come close to the results obtained by the next iPhone's chipset.

I hope they are not using the internal software that sense the geek bench type apps running and enhance the performance to get good scores :/

Except for iPhone fanboys, no one cares. IOS is obsolete by design compared to Android. If you're already on Android, why go backwards to IOS? Who cares about lab tests? How close are they to real world performance anyway?

At some point one has to wonder if such performance is even required inside a phone. If it was running some kind of continuum to turn into mac os, it would be worthwhile, if it would allow playing AAA titles, it would be worthwhile. Otherwise its a waste of technology. If there is a such a powerful chip, apple should put it into better use than a smartphone which will run just fine with 1/3rd of performance.

Thats pretty nice..... Get ready to pay 1500$ (atleast)...... Rumours are pointing out that iPhone 8 is a premium device.... This phone is for whom are nuts......
Thanks.....I am happy with my S7 for another couple of years.....

Will it blend? That is the question.

Savor , 25 Apr 2017I have been jailbreaking iPhones since 2008 when it was sti... morewish i could give you a thousand upvotes. i am soooo disappointed and frustrated with iOS. it is restrictive, ways to accomplish simple tasks are convoluted, and the interface has not been improved since generations (what's with one action in a series being on the top left corner and the next being on the bottom right?)

                  Wow!

On earth. Proof's on YouTube. S8 was kicked to the ground while it was 50-50 for iPhone and xperia.

This is shameful. But who cares as long as my Android is smooth.

AnonD-650282, 26 Apr 2017Cos it doesnt neccessarily need one.. android apps always ... moreThat and Qualcomm Monopoly. Qualcomm does not feel any pressure to be competitive so they pretty much create the same chip twice over (SD835 *is* SD820/1) and merely added more cores, because that's how they roll given that everybody would buy their chips anyway.

They're like Intel, Intel has long given up upgrading her performance (citing BS reasons) knowing that they will sell anyway (funny thing is that they don't anymore, people simply prefer to keep their old computers, but that's another issue altogether).

This is excellent. I wish Android chip makers would step up their game quickly.
