We are in a time when a device can look good and be a workhorse at the sametime, the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S8 range and XZ Premium are all pretty and will probably do a fantastic job at being great convergence devices for us Heavy Users, but this late arrival by Sony is terrible.

    Real friends don't let real friends buy Samsung or Apple. Let shallow, ignorant, backbiting, and poseur "friends" do that.

    People need to check the S7 edge and S8+ comparison on PhoneArena. Lag, lag, lag. Then watch the Google Pixel XL beat the GS8+ in Marques Brownlee's camera comparison. I saw it time and time again with SuperSaf and Krystal Key that the S8's cameras isn't much of an upgrade from the S7's and still couldn't beat the Pixels.

    People only talk crap about the Pixels because they do not own it, hard to get it (which it is since I had trouble finding one), or simply don't like the design or the high price. But the Pixels are damn good phones! Proud owner of one. Sade should call it Smooth Operator.

    Sick and tired by these morons that dictate technology based on looks. I like Sony way more than Samsung. Even LG far more than Samsung. I grew up with Japanese brands as a child, so I worshipped Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Nintendo, Sega, Canon, Nikon, and Hitachi. At least Sony keeps it closer to stock Android.

    I would love to get a Xperia XZP but my eye is kinda waiting for OnePlus 5 and Nokia 9.

Price is too high which is typical Sony. It was like Sony grabbed some old Mi 3 shells from Chinese street vendors and tweaked it a little.

      I was pretty impressed with the photos coming from the OnePlus 3T in MKBHD's blind test camera comparison. I was picking the letter "C" once I saw the guy in front of the brick wall. That would end up the Pixel XL. Very proud owner of the Pixel. Like that Sade song, "Smooth Operator." Waiting on the OnePlus 5. The half-priced 3T beat the iPhone 7 Plus easily in photos.

      LOL @ Apple. If I wanted another iPhone, I would build it myself like the one guy who lived in Shenzhen. You realize how silly it is to argue about design when they are more like empty egg shells and are nothing with the right components inside. And you also realize how silly you pay for iPhones when you can make it yourself at half the price. Just need to go to Shenzhen.

S7 was the best android phone from last year and everyone knows for a fact how pathetic TouchWizzz is. So just cut the crap because Samsung won the best award last year, that means nothing. People have gone bonkers deciding phones based on design only, obviously to most losers its about show off, and that mission is immensely successful with a jewellery like S7, so yeah best phone thus!

        But for those who already have a life and don't need any show off will prefer smooth performance and a robust phone rather than some girlish toy. Just save it man.

        I hate this XZP with a passion though, it was never the point anyway. But Sony uses stock based android and its performance will always be ahead than any glorified Samsung.

          I guess you can purchase a higher wattage fast charger than what is usually included in the box with most smartphones, but we are used to getting a free charging brick & cable. I for one rather take the free wireless earphones that is of higher value than the purchase of a charger & cables which only cost around $25-30 retail.

            Apart from the bezels, this is really an excellent phone/flagship. A big well done (apart for the bezels, again) to Sony.

                      If its anything like the Xperia z5 premium then its running in 1080p 90 percent of the time. Wait Z5 premium was a 4k display yet display mate and even extremetech have said it too. Yes I get you gonna say display mate doesnt review anyone apart from Apple or Samsung but even when other sites say samsungs 1440p amoled display is better than any device and thats including Sonys 4k Xperia Z5 Premium.

                      I agree we should wait for the actual reviews to come out of the device.

                      Better UI

                      Speed wise yes, features wise HELL NO it aint even close. I guess its down to the persons taste but the Xperia UI i dont even know what it is callled is so dull in comparison. I mean how long did it take till Xperia users could even use multi tasking built in?? A galaxy S3 could do it about 5 YEARS AGO :D

                      ONE OF THE BEST FINGERPRINT SCANNER LOCATIONS ON A SMARTPHONE.

                      I agree to a point i still prefer an actual home button like Apple or huawei and how samsung used to.

                      BEAUTIFUL design.

                      Again right now people have seen images of the upcoming xperia flagship and even have seen it in person and all the phone sites and even tech sides are calling the S8 the best looking phone ever, so that must give you an idea which has the most beautiful design.

                        At the end of the day there will be a handful of devices at the top.

                        The S8 duo, Note 8, Iphone 8, Google pixel.

                        Sony wont touch them it hasnt for the last few years and never will.

I can accept the fact that the infinity display is somewhat attractive on the S8 but quality wise for me its not better.To me it looks cartoonish. You shouldn't really comment on battery life because the XZ Premium hasn't been tested yet but I also feel like the S8 will last longer.However the XZ Premium has both Qnovo adaptive charging and Battery Care features,which means that the battery's lifespan will last longer.So in the long run the XZ Premium wins on that part.
                                  Before commenting on the camera you should check comparisons on youtube because from what I've seen the XZs was snapping better photos than the S8. But the most ridiculous part you are talking about is the UI. I mean seriously? Touchwiz is so laggy,that I hear Samsung buyers themselves complaining about it.Sony's UI is light and close to stock which has been praised by many people on the internet. If you like the S8 I am not going to judge you,it's a great phone,but don't talk negatively about the XZP if you don't know much about it.Especially when you are talking about "the whole package".I could list countless features that the XZ Premium has...

                                        X Perf does not even shoot 4K, still has 88 points.

                                        What I say S7 has 12mp by default. Sony does not have 23 mp by defalt.
                                        Get a Xperia out of the box and take a pic on auto, it is 8mp. Only XZ can change it on auto. You choose 8, 20or 23 mp.
                                        But most of them do not chnge.

                                        XZs has 12mp by default ( you can also change to 17 and 19), that is why it is better than XZ.

                                        The only advantage of lower resolution is to have less noise. Something you can manage at 23 if you know how to do..

                                        I read many tech sites... Never seen S7 as winner of a blind test.
