Anonymous, 28 Apr 2017So Googles Pixel have no better updates than almost any oth... moreNever had an iPhone but I agree, it is something to consider. I'm really enjoying my LG G5 and it does receive updates, albeit slowly.
I would, however, prefer to have a phone that would receive updates for 3-4 years. I am skeptical about going for iPhones though due to how expensive they are and such.
Google is pathetic and the updates for their phones are pathetic as well. 2 years is nothing and they expect us to throw the phone and buy another in under 2 years. Really bad behavior.

Well, I can mention an entire plethora of, but to opt for only two: 1, obviously would be the S8/+, and the other, although in some different way and its not of the highest ranking like the S8 duo, etc. It would be also interesting to see an Axon 7/s ..., because it is a very value for money phone, and/but mostly what it needs Is a more holistic polished software, and so a stock Android SW would be excellent, because then on the hardware side, the Axon 7/s ..., has its potentials.

So Googles Pixel have no better updates than almost any other manufacturer, so there is no reason at all to buy any Pixel from Google! Apple is still the best when it comes to support and updates!

Hahahaha This is hilarious. People are always on about how if you want regular software updates you should buy a Nexus or Pixel. Turns out, all you get with Nexus/Pixel is less features for a higher price. Hahahahaha hilarious

Why would I buy the pixel then? 2 years is a joke. I'd rather buy an iPhone and get 5 years of updates.

Yeah, Google has the best software support in the Android world... Happy to hear Google Play edition phones may be back, I hope they will be released in more countries and Sony to release one or two of them. :)

I need 5 year software updates, since I've spent $850 on a developer phone. Not just 2 years, even Huawei promises for 2 years and delivering as promised. Such shame and feeling sad to hear this. Sigh, I should have gone for samsung or LG.

I'll never buy Google phones. They are riddled with software bugs and hardware defects.

2 years for googles own phones is poor, this is not much more than the android competition has to offer (and this has always been pixel/nexus key selling point). If we take security into it, it's 3 years while the last year doesn't bring new android versions, but this is still not enough. An iPhone gets at least 5 years of support, with the fifth year being security with the x.x.x and little new features with the x.x
