We started off with counting how many phone numbers you can store, ended up counting in gigabytes.

The misinformation is, some smartphones procced to "infinity TB" are just fake-manufactured internal storage

Elephone is promising a 1TB card expansion with their UPro phone which should release in less than a week (8th Feb) and already up for pre-order. They aren't one of the mainstream macho brands but I thought they deserve a mention here since I've been using one of their devices s8 and have found it awesome.

Not even mentioning Sony-Ericsson and their m2 memory cards, in an article about phone memory???
Still having two 16GB m2 and two 8GB m2 cards.
The Sony-Ericsson K850 can/could take either a M2 or mSD memory cards and work well with up to 16GB, think it's the only SE phone that could turn that trick.

I remember my SE T630 which had only 1MB storage. But now 8GB is too small. 16GB is enough but small too.

I remember having a Treo 650 which would take a full SD card. I can't recall what capacity I had installed. Certainly less than 2 GB.

All those special edition phones promising 256/512GB shouldn't count as most of the time the phone don't actually exist. No one can buy them and no one can review them.

AzureLord, 01 May 2017back then when the asus zenfone AR was introduced the sd835... moreYes I know. I'm angry that they should have waited for SD835. It is a top tier phone with premium price tag (a price which, for some, isn't justified by Asus brand) and Asus is already pushing it price bracket here. they've also put a hard work in this, and such a pricy phone, with almost full flagship price, I'd it'll have a processor from last year, it may be a commercial failure. If ppl care about how much power they need, they won't even buy a sd820 phone. ppl buy flagships coz they want latest and greatest. so they should have waited for sd835. Same I think about G6. And I bet G6 won't be the success LG hoping for.

Now, we have e-sims and cloud storage. All that sim card and sd card will be useless. Our grandchildren will laugh at the days people still using 'cards'.

I think the article should mention another phone, a model by siemens, sl-45i, that started all the hype with "more storage and bigger card". Managers had this model, it was so expensive that ordinary people couldn't afford it. Not that it's a well-known model, it's just the very possibillity of adding a card and listening to songs(!) was so revolutionary back then. It is possible there are even older phones with memory cards but siemens had great marketing back then and this particular phone was more popular (more advertised?) than alternative models.

Dayum! Nokia N-9 had 64 GB internal storage way back in 2011. That's just insanely impressive.

EL, 30 Apr 2017i don't care much how big is internal memory or fast it is.... moreYes so much phone internal flash memory making trash when phone is broking. But you can't use this and even bring back files. That thing is uneconomic for manufactuers also. Manufacturers releasing new phones every year. Other things are outdated in phones but didn't internal flash memory who you can't take out when phone broked. So internal phone memory manufacturers should change strategy I think.

My first Nokia with internal 3MB memory was Nokia 3220 and I had one mp3 song in phone. Thats was 2004 deal with it. 2004 was stone age for phone memory. But in phone internal memory growing stage thats was big step because memory in this age was for phone adress book, but also we have interesting java games with 150kb size like prince of persia double agent splinter cell. Haha. Now for game need 1gb size. Apps and games in android are big now. How much GB memory you have music now?. Well much music is streaming now. Well maybe for high rez video helping. Films. But these also can stream now. Also for photos but these is not big in size.
