the new scpl platform better be good. nok & se & samy all have thin phones coming out soon...just being thin isn't enuf these days...you also need to be a feature rich. v3 maxx though a very good phone in my opinion will be under pricing pressures because it doesn't sport 3 megapixel camera....i really hope this new platform saves their day...
but things are not looking good..look at motofone...i like the overall feel of the phones screen..but after watching some videos on youtube about the phone, i think the screen is completely inadequate...come on just 2 rows of text??? what was going on their minds??? even farmers in india wanto see more than 2 rows of text when they go thru their phone book or type a text message rite? I was sooo disappointed...because i tot the overall form factor of the phone was brilliant... :( ...but then again motorola nvr listens :( ...i think they got kinda lucky with the razr.

Motorola is seriously behind in the megapixel wars...ony 2megapixels camera on you flagship phone, v3 maxx, just doesn't play anymore...they are such brilliant innovators, but they really dropped the ball on this. maybe they can undercut nokia & se or samsung on the pricing, but its going to hurt their margins man....
motofone is also a flop..2 rows of text on phone just doens't do it anymore man!!!....i think even farmers in india wanto see more than 2 rows of text when they use their phone book or type a text message rite???? it is such a waste because i tot the form factor of motophone was brilliant...pls change the screen and re-spin a new motofone model...it would do the hardware engineers more justice for this brilliant platform they designed.

I just dont get it. Why are people so excited about new motorolas? What have they done that makes them different from the rest? Understandable that they have nice designs (for posers), but lets face it, thats about all there is, and since they have more problems than any other manufacturer, is it worth it? Nokia and SE are doing great, they rival each other non stop, even samsung gets a bit of the action, leaving motorola in the dust, struggling to even funtion properly. motorola is a fashion accessory to the untrained eye. If you want to compare with cars, to the gent that compared moto to a vintage sports car and nokia to a corolla, I think a more appropriate comparrison would be motorola is like a hyundai tiburon, they make it look fancy and expensive but its empty, whilst nokia can be related to a Subaru WRX, It is designed for performance with exceding features and power always leaving hyunday back in 2005. Motorola is NOT fun to play with, the age we live in is rappidly changing and with things like playstation 3, Pentium dual core 2 and other advancements, consumers need a lot more to satisfy than what moto have to offer.

one thing that i like about new Motorola phones is: they ergonomically fit in my hand.
i used to have nokia, ericsson, samsung and siemens phones, and i find it hard to type sms single-handed using those phones, because they put their keypad to close to the edge of the phones...

buying and having a motorola is like having a vintage sports car in your garage. all the essentials are in place... shift lever, pedals for brake, clutch, and gas, nice dash, lovely seats, reliable engines, etc. Just like the motoRazrs sms, call quality, sleek, thin, more talk time, sexy, and sturdy. its the essentials that counts. For nokia or any "hi-tech" brands... its like buying and having a toyota corolla much worst a hyundai getz... all the innovations are in place but would it last longer than a basic sports car? these so called technology in your nokia or SE is going to be history tomorrow like an ordinary sedan. i have a nokia n70 and 7710 but i only use it as backups cuz using it's complicated to use... so much for "human technology". My primary as always would be motoRazr...

"but based on the quality of the phone i recomend motorola, base on my experience in using motorola and also upon attending their motorola product training.i salute you guys for the success of improving of the quality of your phone."
yeah, a lot of people don't acknowledge the huge improvement in quality motorola has undergone with RAZR series. in ratio of sales/defects, razr v3 is a big difference over phones like their old triplets series. the quality of the plastic, not to mention the tight metal construction on many of their RAZR phones. it's been a big step up.
now they need to advance on that with some hot new features but i've heard this will come later in 2007 with the new SCPL series.

they dont complain of nokia se or samsung using the same design because they actually bring new features to their handsets, also the update their UI for time to time and with each release, motorola keeps releasing the same crap over and over, look at k1 its bunch of crap, nice design ok but EVERY SINGLE feature its crap. camera screen mp3 player EVERYTHING is crap.

im one of the frontliner of the authorized telecomshop company here in the philippines.I suggest that the motorola should release a 3.2 megapixel fone with flash with FM radio and RSS feeds.if they do added this said feature it will be in-demand in the market.but based on the quality of the phone i recomend motorola, base on my experience in using motorola and also upon attending their motorola product training.i salute you guys for the success of improving of the quality of your phone.

and motorola have not come out with a wi-fi hp. wake up pls, u r lagging behind ur rivals in the technology race! you made the first hp in the world, now you are just a follower of hp trend. what a shame! all the designers and software engineers should be sacked and replace with somebody with the passion and innovation to rejuvenate motorola. most of all, sack the CEO, Ed Zander! he is still sleeping !!!

To the person who sypathises with Motorola.
I don't think he is bashing motorola for their popularity, but the fact that they can't bring out anything that is up to date with technology. The greatest advancement on their phones is HSDPA, but nokia and SE are getting on the wagon too so there goes that advantage. Where is WI-FI? Where is the cutting-edge camera? Where is the brilliant screen? Why are they so freakin overpriced?
Also think about what you are saying
--> "It's just probably that because everyone has it. Everyone hates that fact, because it's so popular, and the phone you REALLLLLLYYYY love, isn't that popular."
+
---> "That's why SE and Nokia are going back down to develop low budget phones, but MOTO have even gone down lower than N/SE because they know that many people are in debt."
---->"Really. That's why there's a ghetto in every city. Probably one near you. Think about it, people who only make enough to eat"
I heard about the latest motorola: the MOTO HoBo. Maybe this is perfect for you and your friends

In regards to the lovely ladies comment previously (annonymous), Bravo on punctuating the spelling for Motorola, Im sure your A1 AZKSING will get you a new phone from motorola!!! yeah right, like they give a D1 DMN about you. I have to put up with customers everyday with problems on these junky phones, with a minimal 50% "BUNG" rate within the first week. Tell me ONE good feature that motorola have (not including, the fact it matches your sunday dress?.
P.S. Have you been prowling this forum waiting for haters or something?

yo, spell motorola right, man
u'r just jealous that motorola's so popular
atleast people think it's cool
most nokia phones are thought of as a joke, and a selection of se phones are also thought badly of with their bad or weird interface or quality
sure theyr durable, but why would you throw them around anyway? phones arent footballs
someone would be really stupid to throw their phone here and there, and thats not why people buy phones either

To the person who can't spell Motorola, how about arguing with a fact of why you hate motorola.
It's just probably that because everyone has it. Everyone hates that fact, because it's so popular, and the phone you REALLLLLLYYYY love, isn't that popular.
How about we make the new MOTO RAZR IH8tUi which has the function to kill anyone who hates motorola around them.
That'll be a good opposition to the new Nokia/SE phone N/W SH1t.
(no offence to any Nokia or SE phones or owners, it's just getting annoying how people keep burning MOTO for their popularity and over use. I mean, it's the best low budget phone out there. That's why SE and Nokia are going back down to develop low budget phones, but MOTO have even gone down lower than N/SE because they know that many people are in debt. This is like the smallest and most silent depression age that history's ever seen.
Really. That's why there's a ghetto in every city. Probably one near you. Think about it, people who only make enough to eat, can't contact anyone, or their friends and have no emergency mobile to call 911.

The designs for the newer razrs and upgrades are actually very different from the older counterparts, though they do look like they were built up from their original concept.
But in any way, these new phones are new and different. Their hardware interface might and I think, should stay the same. I mean, if you're asking for something different, what will it be? You're buying motorola, cause it's motorola. If you want something different, go buy a nokia, sony ericsson or iPhone. All of those have different hardware interfaces.
As for the software interface, personally, I wouldn't like it to change drastically every time a new model comes out. It might've gotten boring, but atleast they're trying to make an advance towards something better while keeping the good things.
To the person who said that nokia sucks in some aspects, let's compare between the original series that started camera and mp3 functionalities.
Nokia came out with the four digit series first to take pictures, and soon modified their software to play mp3s, take 3220 for example.
Motorola had their letter platform, but did not build up on one model. Their newer ones had both a camera and MP3 functions in the first place. T270 to V220 is one example.
True these phone are not mp3 players exactly, but they were the earliest form. Skipping ahead to right now, Sony currently rules the media section of the mobile world. Nokia, only known for it's easy to use (for some people) software interface, sometimes better then the competition's picture qualities and ok loudspeaker. Sony Ericsson, the highest quality is known for their walkman mp3 series with light designs and growing candybar line. (K790, K800, W800, W810, W880) I mean, why don't you complain about why SE keeps making candybars with the same and at first, complex to know/learn interface? Their interface isn't that erogonomic either. Usually left is correct/enter and right is wrong/cancel. For any kind of hardware. (I'll build up on this later)
And Motorola with their metal alloy keypads, design and look. Known for their mobility, VERY easy to learn and use software because of it's proper and natural navigation through it's applications.
Building up now, why dont you also complain about nokia? They make their own phones smaller, but still not slimmer. I don't like that, I want it both slim and small and still proper to use. (That lipstick phone was really.. bad) But no one complains because appearantly, they're not motorola. People don't see, nokia don't care about slim and makes their phones as fat as they want, as long as they're stylish.
Motorola achieves style with slim, and that'll be the base of their design. They've been successful ever since. I mean, what more can you do with the razr? They've made LCDs bigger, keypads with more buttons and functions, packed cameras with just more than half a megapixel more into them, and even put in 3G/EDGE into them. MP3 players, and always, a different hardware/software interface from each model (V3, Z3, Z6, Z8, MaxxV6, xxV3, x, L6, L7, E3, E6, KZRZ, RIZR, F3) Sure their interfaces are similar in some obvious aspects, but they're always different. It's just that they usually the same in the most common aspect, because in their eyes, they see it's the best way to go. Changing it anyway to them would have to change the whole thing.

How about a K1 KRAPR? Motorolla have become a joke. If you want to be Cool Id suggest ANYTHING ELSE. If you want to be a sheep with a bung phone that is set to detonate once it leaves its ELF Period (or if you are gender estranged)Then This Is the phone for you!!! Maybe motorolla should produce remote controls.
