Nokia phones got much more attention from all the mobile media, Nokia reach thousand of markets that HTC can only dream about. There are people on the world that don't even know what HTC is.

It's the "poorest"? Why? So Android is better with it's lagging and amateur Java-interface that consumes CPU and baterry power monstrously and make number of mid-range handsets lags? iOS is better with so many restrictions, with no real home-screen at all, no widgets, only a flat menu structure of apps and more apps?
Do you REALLY know anything about Symbian? You probably don't know a damn thing and is only influenced by other people, pretty usual.

Nokia, it's pointless to do what you have done last year!! You can't disturb HTC with your cheap tricks. HTC will be the attraction next week. Sorry Nokia fans, but this is the truth.

S40 is an economy phone. Mid-tier phone. It will never, EVER, gonna compete with smartphones.

Lets pretend Symmbian is good, in which case it certainly isnt. It is the poorest of the big Smartphone OS's
I think the selection of handsets here T7-00, E6 and X7-00...
Is nokia for real? Those are not value for money. Nokia has nice cameras but boy there is nothing else about these phones i like. quite poor spec. These should have been release about 2 years ago when the arm11 chip was still acceptable. Also a 4inch screen with that poor a resolution is going to look poor.
I dont expect much out of these phones.

i just wonder how much money does htc, lg, samsung,and google pay this group of symbian haters just to post their hate comments in every nokia-symbian article they read.... But i envy you guys! only a handful of people can a high-paying but easy job like yours...lolz! say what you want to say.... but we cannot hide the truth.... that even if android joined force with all the other cellfone companies,, nokia & symbian will still be number 1, WORLDWIDE....!

IOS, Android, blackberry OS all these systems are not the reason why Symbian was dumped to second place at Nokia. it's fanboys who totally refuse to see that this OS has over time time become inferior to the others that have caused it's demise.
Had people wised in time and gave Nokia the positive feedback they needed Symbian would still be number one.

hi! didn't u know that u can put those things in the homescreen? u can even designate them in the right selection key and left aand also in the four navi keypad? it also has multitasking. my 2year old E66 has smart dialing
S40 is for low-mid range phones and can kill samsung(java based) LG(Java based) anytym... I still prefer SOny Ericson java based phone than S40 coz it has multitasking, actually am planning to buy Cedar soon ^_^
Im also saddened that Nokia will abandon Symbian...hope they change their mind T_T

If the only thing u use in a phone is call and text that battery life seems a top notch feature for u,then stick with symbian...
But with the current innovations and very progressive features mobile handsets/os manufacturers are doing at the present, symbian unfortunately cant keep up with the technology's pace..
I dont have anything against nokia or symbian for i used to be a nokia user ever since 7110... so i used to b an avid fan of nokia tech features...
But upon changing and experiencing Android OS(froyo,to b specific) and iOs, thats the only time o realized that nokia and symbian is lightyears afar from its competitors..talk about ram,web browser,ui, and i wont say etcetera cos to summarize it its Everything....
Im currently using htc desire running froyo..and i can tell.. its the best phone i ever had....its the best....

Nokia is really bad in terms of software. The S40 and S60 haven't meet an improvement since 2006 to modern-age-2009, lol no smart dialling and multitasking, S40 is more to dumbphone than smartphone. Symbian^3 is too late and keeping old interface make it underdog, but its a light and powerful OS, though. Too bad stupid Nokia want to kill it, makes me wonder if Nokia didn't buy the whole Symbian company, I bet Symbian still have a bright future today.

I have to Agree that throwing dirt at Nokia is for children. As a person that has used Android and iOS but is now going back to Android because personally i like it alot better.
The problem i have with Nokia is that they have already stated that WP7 will be there main OS and that Symbian won't be why then should i go and buy a Symbian running Nokia phone when they are kind of fading it out?

Even though they don't co... moreFunny you mention dropped calls as it was virtually impossible to answers calls on my N97, if I did manage to answer a call it would freeze up in the middle of a conversation. Please don't start bashing other phones coz Nokia phones have not been exactly up to scratch lately. Some people resorted to putting the N8 in the freezer to cool it off for to boot up again.

Nokia gives what consumer expect. Even though they don't come up with high speed processors, they give an sufficient amount of power to the device.
Other than that Nokia gives more stuff to consumer, which cannot be seen from any other smartphone.
very friendly user interface, well balanced power supply and consumption and thus a long lasting battery, useful apps, smooth multitasking ability, super displays like AMOLED, excellent cam features and quality with flash, very good telephony,capable in hard using, and many more. What else do consumers expect. If they wanna play high end games they'll go for a console or a pc. smartphones are not for bullshit like that.
Nokia hasn't got any complaints regarding signal issues and call drops yet. Its a disgrace to have such problems and still make SMART phones...Isn't it?
Many other smartphons have limited their specs.
Like no flash, no 2nd cam, poor loudspeaker quality, poor battery power, some have no card slots, too big (not handy), no radio.....etc
So how can others say symbian is old old old...??? with having very crucial lacks with them.... Nokia is the BEST EVER! In past, present and future.
