My S8+ fell from my bed (roughly 60 cm) without any screen protector or case (I was installing my glass screen protector when it happened) and it cracked from the left bottom corner. I've seen different pictures of cracked S8 screens and it looks like that corner is a consistent point of impact.

Get a clear gel case, unintrusive and gives more grip.

This test is far more realistic than any random droptest on youtube! 80 cm is not high at all, so every phone should survive 1000 or more drops from 80 cm!
Fact is that S8 is one of the most fragile phones ever made!

you must be very clumsy to be able to drop your phone for like 50 times. This test is stupid. drop test need to be more lifelike, not laboratory controlled like this one.

I watched a ton of drop test on You Tube and I should probably say the drop test by XEETECHCARE was the most life like of them all.

Anyway I'm still lovin and rockin my Samsung Galaxy S8 Naked. Cases take away the premium look and feel.

AnonD-666047, 07 May 2017I'd still say 3210 is stronger than 3310.Agreed 2 of the most durable phones ever, but for me 3310 were the pinnacle of durability just above 3210 after having owned both as a teenager. The buttons were a bit better and resistant to the rigours of hours of snake 2.

Who cares? It's just another Android phone. That means 'average' in all aspects.

GSMArena, please stop calling smartphones 'investment'. Investment is something that pays for itself over time, and any phone is simply spending. Calling a $1k toy 'investment' might make an occasional buyer happy, but that doesn't make sense anyway.

[deleted post]Actually, other drop tests show that this phone is more durable than the iphone 7.

Well, with those corners, it was definitely obvious and expectable from the very beginning (already from the live launching/ inauguration).
