07 May 2017
Some manufacturers spoil us with accessories others just throw in a USB cable and call it a day.

a fast charger, a good pair of headphones and a crystal clear TPU case is a must, since most phones today have glass back and front its easy to get scratches :/ like honor 8

There was a time when the mobile phones cost less and also have different accessories inside the box. It was so fun unboxing it and felt special as a customer to have those things. Not anymore :|

When i saw the poll, started to think who was the phone with most extra goodies in box from my xp. Till now i owned 2 Huaweis, 2 Sonys, 2 Lenovos, 1 Motorola and 1 Samsung. Lenovo> Sony> Motorola>Samsung-Huawei. This is my rank. Recently i got Lenovo P2 - turbo charger, USB on the go, screen protector, hard shell for the back, headphones. All this was in the box. Lenovo P1m has rich retail box too. Imho most of original accesories ( not all, but most of them) are too overpriced.

I've got better headphones than any phone maker bundles, so I don't want to pay extra for a paid of headphones that I don't need (and yes, you do pay for the as part of the price).

Same for other included accessories. Give me a USB cable, maybe a charger, and don't waste my money or your resources on any of the rest.

It depends. in flagships and "premium midrangers, accessories should be more. but as far as xiaomi is concerned. .. I think they should also include some quality accessories with Mi6, but not the rest. For 6000, I want nothing from them except a charger with the redmi 4a.

Less accessories = less cost for the overall bundle.

Give me a fast charger, a quality braided usb cable and i'm good

I'll use the extra savings to buy 3rd party accessories (case, glass screen protector, proper earphones) from companies who are more specialised and offer better value.

Most people usually think that the extra contents are free, but you actually pay for whatever extra sh*t you get. When you buy a phone, you buy a phone. Not some headphones or a dongle. You want to get extra sh*t and prices to decrease at the same time? Never gonna happen. I'd rather get only the phone and a charger if it meant to pay less. With that leftover money I could buy whatever I like, knowing it's my choice.
Companies are tricking you into buying things with extra stuff inside, making you think that you get a good deal when you're not.
Remember that when you buy a phone, you buy a phone and not something else.

Big price=Big bundle. In-Home accessories aren't costing that much to the company, and they improve drastically the value of the purchase.

This is a nice poll question. For me, it's the more the merrier.
Fast charger, decent earphones, BT headsets, speakers, connectors, MicroSD cards, screen protector, stands, cases, flip covers, VR headsets, extra batteries (if removable), stylus, replacement S-Pen tips, powerbanks..... Oh the list goes on,

i thought there is a quick answer to this. it actually depends.

for Samsung and their flagships, it is best for them to include accessories they already make because it won't add much to the cost while it also helps them "sell" these accessories whether the user will use it or not. they already manufacture and sell micro sd cards, earphones, and power banks, adding them to a flagship won't hurt them but added value for a buyer who requires such. one more thing, I hate glass back designs as they are slippery and ugly once broken. Samsung should include a quality case to improve protection or conceal an already broken glass.

for the range of phones where price matters, it is best that they don't include the extra accessories while lowering the price as much as they can. an extra USB cable is nice though as many of us at least break or lose them.

cut down on paperwork, include high quality headphones and a fast charger and im good, galaxy s8s earphones are very good for standard bundle, they should be for the price of them (£100) if you had to buy them separately. in fact the S8 bundle is very good tbh, akg headphones, usb c to micro usb 2, usb host adaptor plus the standard fast charging plug and cable, cant comment on other phones contents as i dont know them, only s6, s7 s8 variants

Quality fast chargers are must for new smartphones. I don't use included earphones but if manufacturer decides to include a pair, they are welcomed.

Haha nice interesting question, well. To give a metaphoric version of the answer first, it is like when you go out in a restaurant, first and foremost you hope that the food will be good, but then if the environment will be of the same level of the food, it will be even much better. So the answer is already clear, but to use other words as well. The priority is always the phone, but if the package and the content are of a certain level, and by that i obviously mean of a good quality, it is always much better and so absolutely welcome. And to answer the one regarding the earphones singularly, generally they are not of a very good quality, so you will end up using something else of a specified earphones brand, but obviously not everyone.

Definitely. I expect complete accessories in the box including a good quality earphones and a fast charger and at least some freebies like a VR headset or wireless charging pad when I buy an exoensive smartphone. Paying an insane amount of money for the device alone is hardly justifiable.

Yes, of course they matter. When im paying a premium price for a premium phone, i expect to have premium accesories as well.
Back in the day, Nokia phones came with car chargers, winshield holders, headphones, USB cable and charger.
I still use those windshield holders to this day, i havent seen higher quality windshield holders on the market yet.
Or HTC that always comes with some realy high quality headphones.
Now phones barely ship with headphones and some of them dont even have chargers included, besides having the cheapest and worst quality accesories i've ever used, especially Samsung. The headphones that come with S6 and S7 are beyond trash and i've already went through 2 wall chargers, because those kill themselves all the time.
Also Toshiba's chargers and USB cables are just bad.
Now im charging my phone with an old Samsung Champ 2 micro-usb charger. It might be slow, but it doesnt break like the newer ones.

I love getting a pair of earphones with my phone. Sure, they're usually terrible, but an extra pair of beaters is always welcome.

No, they'll just inc. the price.

Might as well make it easy to compare prices

Yes, very for me. I would love to receive a cable and earphones that in the very least will be constructed with solid rubber, nylon or aluminium with very sturdy connection points troughout the acessory. The charger must also be safe and reliable, just like the smartphone that comes with them.

Phones rarely ship with usable headphones, so I don't care about other stuff than getting a fast charger. Some kind of a protective case is a nice thing to get, but those are pretty cheap to buy afterwards.
