When will they make the flagship as the level of s8 and g6. Just saw the two flagships comparison on mkbhd/mrmobile. Truly great phones.

[deleted post]To some extent you are right but note that Apple gives an option of 4.7" flagship model whereas for most other brands it's minimum 5.2" and 5.5 ". That's why bezels on iphones doesn't bother users that much. Although An 5.5" iPhone plus model is just a brick. Heaviest and biggest 5.5" phone out there. What a shame.

Everybody who is touting that 3000 mAh with SD626 in a 6mm phone isn't going to work out, you are seriously not looking at this from the manufacturer's point of view. It is imperative for marketing to say that this phone, or the Z2 (which may also have a 3000 mAh cell) and Z2 Force (which may have around 3500 mAh), is slimmer than your iPhone 7 Plus and S8/+ and still has more battery and supports mods while keeping the headphone jack, (maybe two-speaker setup) plus the splash resistance nano-coat. The camera is the same but maybe this one has EIS, and Z2 will have OIS while the Z2 Force may have a newer sensor.
Furthermore adding this chipset with 3000 mAh means a SOT of about 10 hours which is as much as you squeeze out of a Droid Turbo (my max is 10h24m over the course of 20h). The current Z Play will give you 12-13h so the Z2P may achieve something like 80h Endurance from GSMA, Z2 about 70h and the Z2F something about 90-95h. I expect them to drop the price to $400 or $350 for less storage/RAM.

But don't forget Sony's models as well, those are the king (Sony) and the queen (Moto, Lenovo) of the bezels, haha. But hopefully from late this year or at least from the next, they will finally realize that with the introduction of the Mi Mix (Sharp), G6 and the S8 duo, and their great success with the global customers, fans, etc. due to their small bezels and that is what customers want. So they just can't keep escaping the drastic reduction of the bezels of their models and eventually that now is definitely the time to start reducing drastically those horrible bezels.

Reduce those bezels for God sake. Since 2016 Moto just became the King of Big Bezels. It hurts my eyes. Z series : good build quality with ugly design.

Sadly, manufacturers fail to realise this and are making phones slimmer with weaker batteries. Overhung cameras too are bi-product of stupidity.

I am quite enjoying Z Play and its enormous battery life. Seriously I wouldn't mind slight bulk with larger battery. Even with that bulk, device looks gorgeous.
My simple question is, Why to kill a performing device with such experiment?
If this happens, I won't be regretting, or I say, I will be more than happy to have Z play instead of its successor.

This phone is busted, the two advantages of this phone over g5 plus is 625vs626(almost non-existent) and the other one is modularity but nobody will buy this phone if has almost same processor battery, camera and just modularity stamped over it, it should just be g5 plus modular edition

What's the logic ? Moto-Mods works fine with 7mm length even though phone becomes a little bulky but still it's acceptable as you are getting a really nice battery.

Am confused, is this a new version of their flagship Z (lovely phone) or a mid range version? I wish companies would stop producing these mid range phones, they are slow, lack decent cameras and harm the reputation of the high end models. Moto G is the low end. Keep it simples else we get confused!
