Apple never employed Sapphire displays on any of their smartphones, smartphones with true sapphire displays are the ones offered by the likes of Vertu, Feld & Volk, Gresso, Sirin Labs, etc. Recently the HTC U Ultra, but that was an exception that just worked and was at a somewhat affordable price when compared to the brands before mentioned. Unless you want your usual flagship smartphone to cost almost 1500€, forget a Sapphire display.

From Sapphire to Corning Gorilla. Cheaping out things because of dropping sales and lowering profit?

Corning Gorilla glass is a gimmick.
      Falsely and overrated ...

This also means apple will be guaranteed enough of the best supply for their iPhones.
