Herodroid, 22 May 2017Well, probably just CPU, because GPU is uncomparrable to SD8xxAdreno 512 scored 30827 in 3d Antutu benchmark...and this number already close to huawei P10 kirin 960 gpu and also beat the shit of Galaxy Note 5 (2 years ago flagship)..
according to this score ...its already tell that Adreno 512 = 1.7x Adreno 510 ..(which mean good enough for 1080p panel playing decent games)
Xiaomi will sell this for only less than $180..but not samsung/ oppo/ sony..
But for geekbench 3D test..this wil be different story..because the on and off screen test will only tell the fps number....not overall picture of gpu capabilities..

Anonymous, 22 May 2017come on its business, they can make this chip atlesst equal... moreI doubt you could see different between the two at this point. Only in games (GPU heavy ones). In the rest they would practically be the same.
People should start looking for other things in phones at this point (I mean as far as performance is concerned). Things like IO performance, ram retention (aggressive phones kill a lot of background apps fopr example rendering them relatively slow), and how heavy the skin on top is, as well as software ageing of course.
In other words, fu, this is a great chip.

come on its business, they can make this chip atlesst equal to the speed of 835, but why would they do that? of course they would always limit the throttle of this chip to maintain the throne of their flagship 835

Herodroid, 22 May 2017Well, probably just CPU, because GPU is uncomparrable to SD8xxYeah but high end GPUs are only needed to high end games so it's irrelevant to the vast majority of people (even those that game on phones) prefer mid range graphics...

Polius, 22 May 2017Thats it? Hmph. I thought is would be closer to SD820 rathe... moreIt destroyed SD821 ... It's closer to exynos 8890 actually.
Don't people know how to read charts?
Android is 70% multi threaded, 30% single threaded. The multi score matters more.

Thats it? Hmph. I thought is would be closer to SD820 rather than just a small bump from SD653.

"A small bump over SD653" .... Proceeds to destroy SD821...
I mean, yeah, that makes some sense ... Not!

Aslipundit, 22 May 2017The 660 does not have 8 identical cores as implied by this ... moreBecause Snapdragon 835 barely beats it in benchmarks, without even talking about real life, when things get even closer.

Aslipundit, 22 May 2017The 660 does not have 8 identical cores as implied by this ... moreI came to comment this as well.
Peter from GsmArena clearly doesn't know his stuff.
The small cache will definitely hold it back when long/complex threads get involved. This wouldn't have been an issue back in the days of Jelly Bean, but both the Android OS and the newer Apps are getting more advanced to take advantage of larger cache and 64-bit processing. Still, with Samsung's 14nm fabrication, the QSD 660 is a big improvement over the QSD 625, and the QSD 650. I expect the boost in (2.2GHz) frequency and sustainable performance to put it equal to the QSD 653 when its running (1.8GHz) regularily.
The QSD 660 would've actually surpassed the QSD 653, QSD 820, QSD 821... and rival the Kirin 960 in raw performance. This is what I reported initially, before I noticed the cache issue as well. The reduction in cache was a DELIBERATE move by Qualcomm, to hold back an outstanding product.

As for the mid- range segment, looking forward for the SD660, and to see the first performance from the mid-range phone that it will incorporating it.

Aslipundit, 22 May 2017The 660 does not have 8 identical cores as implied by this ... moreAh, you're right! They are "260 Efficiency" and "260 Performance" but when Qualcomm quotes "8x Qualcomm® Kryo™ 260 CPU", it's... confusing.

If Kryo 260 can't compete with A73, why don't they just use vanilla A73 instead of wasting resources modified them?

nice, let's see the price, hopefully smaller than Snap 820 devices.

The only logical thing they could have done was to use 4 big kryo cores and 4 downscaled Kryo cores, which are based on the same architecture but work as power saving CPUs because of the smaller size.
