This is not in response to Ryzen, these are more enthusiast class processors. I'm pretty sure Intel can and will compete with Ryzen with their 8th gen chips. Highly unlikely they've been twiddling their thumbs while AMD was playing catch up.

It's the reason why they even licensed AMD x86 in the first place. So that in case Intel falls apart, there would still be a source for revenue. But I think AMD won't fall apart on it's own since Intel is paying them license fees for the x86-64 architecture. They are having a symbiotic relationahip.

Ah....and yes, they have "Bitten by Ryzen" written on the box. LOL, I love AMD because they always keep processor prices in check. Imagine how much we would pay for our next laptop or a new processor for our desktop if (God forbid) AMD goes out of business. Intel would sell us even junk at the cost of an arm and a leg. Although, luckily Ryzen is a whole new level of performance but, I have purchased AMDs even in their bad days when possible(casual workloads), just because I wanted them to endure and eventually come up with something competitive. Things look good now, especially when AMD seems to have a definite future plan and is in a better position than it was in the recent past. I wish everyone could get what I am trying to say instead of raving about who's the fastest. No body needs an outright bulldozer of a PC apart from may be a few critical applications. We can all do just fine with a Ryzen or an Intel with just a few frames or seconds here and there even in the most demanding applications. Ultimately its comes down to how much we have to shell out of our wallets and I think with AMD everyone gets the benefit.
