Apple sues Samsung for copying iPhone and iOS looks

Remember the Lg Arena, how come they didn't sue that one. All phones with a touchscreen look the same most of the time. nokia x6 and xperia x10 look similar but nobody's suing. Some companies must have accepted you can only do so much to change a basic touchscreen phone.

I have one and a close friend of mine has the iPhone4 and they do not look the same. If anything they both look like any other touch screen bar phone out there. The Samsung Galaxy S I9000 looks the same as the Samsung Omnia I900.
In fact I still had the Omnia I900 when the I9000 came out and I viewed it as the proper upgrade to the I900 just with a different OS. On icons I'm afraid all icons look similar so much so that different UI try to differ in whether you scroll sideways or up/down. This means there only two ways to run through menus. Even a big idiot should realize this.
Apple is just jealous that the Galaxy name has become synonymous with high end products.
Apple sells glossy same looking products, look at the current ipod and iphone4 and you can hardly see the difference. But they are glossy, desirable and simple to use. This works well for those who like that kind of thing.
Samsung sells technology advanced products made of bulletproof plastics. HTC sells great products made of unbreakable materials.
All these companies make full touch slab form form factor products that we as users want to be familiar for ergonomic reasons.
For example I want my phone to have buttons or button or menu control bar at the bottom so my that my thumb can reach it easily. I want it as thin and the bezel as small as possible without messing up usability.
This means that tech can go as high as it wants to go but these phone will be have to be similar until someone can come up with a completely new way of interacting with these devices.And I don't means make a device that will be more sensitive even you are wearing gloves, you kind of like moving from stylus to fingers (that is not different interaction just more convenient)

apple is so insecure. Why only samsung? Are square and oval shapes trademarked by apple 1000 years ago? Mark my word, apple and microsoft are on the decline and will be gone in 10 years

those lawsuits are all BS! apple is just scared coz samsung's been releasing phones that are way better than iphones. it will surely drop their sales of iphones. apple just became a big name from making ipods, maybe they should stay on that line. and those apple's fanboys made using iphones a trend. it's like "dude, im better than you coz i use iphone!" there's so many smartphones out there that match or even better than the iphone. consumers just don't see it coz all they see is a big apple being used by many... this is just my opinion... please don't hate... wahahaha...

I have both phones. iOS is still way better. Samsung phones really do look like 2nd rate, trying hard, copycats.

every time one company try to catch up with Apple they try to slow them down by suing or any kind of attack...let's the open competition roll..and keep working with your research and new products.

let´s face it. first time i saw a galaxy dummie in a window shop i thought it was a fake iphone, then i realized it was samsung´s way of selling a phone. to copy the leader. why bother innovating when people want something like that but cheaper? it is deserved and i just hope apple wins. and i don't even like iphone.

Samsung sucks and Apple is some how superior??

Anyway Samsung phones are cheaply made that's why they are able to produce so many phones in a year. Whats with the naming? I've even lost count as to how many handsets are named Galaxy ..

I didnt expect them to be so desperate and fall so low. I mean thaaat low.
This new super Galaxy is cheaper and better than their star and they are so ruthless, that would try anything to stop it.
Maybe they know, that in their home country, they do have the influence to stop in courts, what they cant stop on the field.
I believe that all the apple fanboys should be ashamed of now,
apple has accepted their inferiority and is trying to deny the US the benefits of a free market, they lost all credibility towards all the objective share of the market, as a brand worldwide, for a mere delay of a superior device locally...

The Image minus the the date of revealing still holds plenty of water.
There is no proof that Apple had that design first. And Lg Prada was also still shown in janurary.
Se first anounced their 12mpgx shooter, but Samsung had been working on one and released theirs first. It was btter too.
Now I can't really say either or of the F700 or 2G were better because they were both advanced and had features over the other, although the 2G had a slight hand in some ways.
And had Samsung copied, which they didn't, it's pretty funny how they suck yet would've been able to have an almost fully functional unit copied and created within that months time frame.
You cannot BUST and DEBUNK all based on one detail. LOL! Sorry, but keep trying

The F700 was announced at CEBIT in 2006 but no model was unveiled. It is not until Feb 8, 2007 that the first model of the unit was unveiled. Samsung rushed it after the debut of the iPhone 2G in January 2007 where Apple showed a working iPhone 2G to the world.
So no, that viral image holds no water. It's been debunked and it's time for you to update your knowledge. It's been BUSTED!

I wonder why apple seems to be in all sorts of lawsuits. Maybe because they are unable to negotiable in good faith period. It's just a reflection of how Apple does business.
This news is a joke to me because all touchscreen phones look the same. They all looks like PDA's from a decade or two ago. there's nothing innovative about it's physical shape. Icon's have been around for a couples decades also. no innovations there. The tight integration with iTunes is new and a big improvement in usability although does measurable lower flexibility. Samsung isn't close to copying Apple in this respect. Microsoft seems to be but suing MS isn't productive.

I understand with all the bashing it is hard to not say something back, but stop and look for a second.
The Prada and F700 came out first and have this similar design.
None of them are complaining. It's just the way these phones look.
As stated before people, cars, tvs, and computers all look similar, but are from from the same and work very differently and are not rip offs of eachother.

So Chevy can get a patent on cars with four doors and wheels and windows after they steel the design off the first modern looking car, and then sue every company that makes cars with doors, wheels, and windows?? Apple stole that design and it is just similar to the way the rest of the phones look. Nobody can claim or sue for it. And if anyone can it's Lg or Samsung since they had phones with the designs released first!

This would not affect consumers like us and this litigation will take years before any injunction will occur. Just expect the SGS 3 to have a different design. Even if Samsung receives an injunction, they will most likely settle it out of court and have a cross- patent licensing agreement.
