Apple sues Samsung for copying iPhone and iOS looks

Just a question if anyone knows from the legal point of view- could Apple prevent the Samsung Galaxy S2 (or Galaxy S for that matter) from being sold and put an injunction out if the court case goes ahead? I really hope not as I intend to but the SGS 2 as soon as its available? Any comments welcome cheers

Yo... moreApple has been awarded the patent for the iPhone's design and they have every right to sue Samsung for ripping them off. Do you see HTC, Moto or Sony ripping off the iPhone design? Only Samsung does and that's because they lack originality.

You just happen to be one of them and the rip off is Apple. Samsung has been way more innovative then Apple. Apple had the bigger name, but Samsung has made all the big steps in technical advancement. Apple just for the first time came out with a phone that could be considered a smart phone or advanced or current when they came out the the I4. the only thing innovative on it was that it had a higher resolution and the slimmest form at the time. that's it A resolution and being slightly slimmer. How innovative after all these years. And I don't know how many times it has to be said, but the iphone is not an original design.

What this law suit shows is that Samsung is a copycat through and through. Only Samsung was singled out by this law suit because they are blatantly ripping off Apple's designs. Only blind fanboys don't see the rip off.

apple scare their iphone4 beaten down by this phone so badly..thats why they try anything they could to stop samsung before this device getting out on market =X sorry apple fanboys...it just timing..

To everyone who is a fan other companies or certain handsets who say Samsung sucks or that all the riches of the Galaxy or any other superior handset suck or are worthless and pointless would be singing a completely different tune if it was their handset that had these features. They would be sitting here bragging their asses off.

Apple's team and fans must realized that Curved Edging, Border Screen, touch button in center bottom of handset, captive touch screen, positioning of camera, and others it can be used in others gadget, like monitor or LCD TV......Will you give them the law suit too? come on Apple, don't be childish and looks affraid So try the others things SUCH AS INNOVATIONS!!!!
iOS and TouchWiz is different, many different things in there. Like homescreen, and icon also the status bar which was Samsung creating a different looks. It can be happened for other gadget too, the answer keys are THE BEST FUNCTION and DESIGN.......so be an INNOVATE COMPANY, see the growth of SAMSUNG, must be a positive Competition to be THE BEST GADGET, don't be scared about that.

Before I was planned to buy one Samsung galaxy S 2.....But after what I read here today, I will buy two Samsung galaxy S 2. To Apple you did a big mistake here and you will go down.

Becoming a successor in touchscreen series.....i agree with i Phone, BUT no innovation for looks design and trademark infringement.....yeah, that's i Phone.
Wanna see the truth? iOS is one of the best OS but it can be usefull and integrated with the same console or hardware....JUST Apple's stuff products.So look that exclusively Apple from the others.....Can Apple answer the demand for everyone (gadget user)?I don't think so. I think Apple has been creating his market, so don't be affraid about copycat, u still have your own market ( which are the rich peoples because of the expensive product with the apple logo) agree.....?
Samsung/Sammy......keep the good work for producing Apple hardware :) There are a different scope of business, being a producer of semiconductors and gadget maker is different scope of business contract. Don't worry about that. If Apple don't want be produced by you...leave it. Keep the innovation for HOME APPLIANCES, HOME THEATER, HANDPHONE, LAPTOP/NOTEBOOK, CAMERA, etc. Sammy has been creating many things to support a sustainable technologies. It can be used for many things in your life. Handphone or Gadget it's only one of sub business. Don't worry about a lawsuit from Apple. It's such a pity sues from Apple. I think Sammy will win in the court.

At one point a full retail iphone(older) could cost up to 1800!!!!!! Luckily nobody ever had to pay that much, but the thing was not even literally worth half that!

Anonymous, 20 Apr 2011Regardless of which phone you think is superior and your fe... moreThere might not have been a lot, but the touch screen era was in an earlier stage and the iphone definitely was not the first of it's kind technically mean this devices are not copies of the iphone. Also as stated before, a phone can look similar and not be a copy. They just use a simple design bar form factor. The one button in the middle is just convienent. And round edges were here light years before the iphone.
