Other OSes also collect these data and the carrier too. I f someone hacks your computer they will be able to get the other details as well. Not only the location. If you are currently using iTunes you already agreed to store location info locally. Read the Apple license agreement.

If its still their property why should we pay money for something that will not be ours. The OS may be theirs but not the device. as long as we carry the device, if they need to track it, they need our permission and concealing this from its users should be punishable.

Also as far as mp3 players go most people don't know ONDA, which you mostly find on ebay, but they are kick as mp3,mp4, and mp5 players, with smaller version and screens ranging from 4.3 to 5 and I think 7 inches in size. With wvga resolution, awesome audio output, HD support, good speaker and some with two speakers, I think a few have dual audio jacks, they have video out, 2,6,16,and 32GB versions with slots for up to 32GB on some, and best of all.. THEY SUPPORT ALMOST EVERY VIDEO AND AUDIO CODEC WITHOUT CONVERSION!!!!!!!!!! And you can get them ranging from 60-150 bux. EPIC!

i think the argument isn't that they can see your location because i think any carrier can do that with a court order if needed, it might be that the file that gives out all the information is so easily accessible, which can be dangerous to anyone that wants to sell their old phone to trade up

Bullshit! The Hardware is property of their Owners. Only the software remains an Apple Licensed product. You buy the Phone and pay for a License to use the iOS in it.

Apple has a bad setback on their phones but their iPod brand is the world mp3 killer..
Look at that.. That's what Apple expert in and stay with it for a long time.. iPod is still the best seller here..
iPad too but due to some minor problem like flash enabled, it could be the best tablet in the world due to it's price and ergonomics..
I love tablet because it is not bulky than a netbook.. Now a tablet can beat a netbook.
Mac Os X is great.. It can support Windows OS inside but only for intel mac's
No virus to worry, smooth and eye candy interface.. Easy to use and no lagg like in WIndows Vista
I like samsung too but the low build quality make me move away.. HTC is great but they don't do any supreme task..
I compare an android with a iOs, iOS is better be use by old people because of it's easy to use.. For geeks, android are the best and that's why they complaint on those iOS users..
iPod and Mac rocks!!
I wish there is a perfect phone in the world, eye candy interface, great camera with branded lens, easy to use and etc.

No matter they've bought it they... morebut they are not mentioning it when we're about to buying it. you know, when we're about to download an apps the apps give us info of what this apps will do, such as tracking location, internet use, ect. now look at this iPhone, you see any disclaimer when you're about to buy it, i dont see any.

First off tv and Amoleds do make up for something and that is far from it. First HD playing and recording, first 12mpx, first built in projector, Samoleds, The hummingbird cpu, and the design is not a copy of the icraps. Apple made apps a little more popular. That's it. The Iphone and Galaxy look similar as far as simple design bar phones go, but each are their own and unique devices that look fairly different and the Galaxies way out operate.

there are many breaches in IOS where Apple ought to fix it ASAP, otherwise it will very soon loose their customers,
anyone with Apple laptop or specific Win app who is able to reach your iphone/ipod will have the ability to read the following information (which is not blocked or even encrypted) even if you have strong passcode.
1-Notes
2-contacts
3-photos
4-all documents or files those belong to applications excepts those which are encrypted. Even the encrypted files are easily transferred to Apple laptop for further haccking
5-the location file exposed lately.
the only protection provided by non jailbreaking iphone is not allowing to install hiddenly any hacking software or being hacked through WIFI!!!

Nokia, Samsung and HTC are also manufactures of high standard core technologies, and they don't get into pointless issues. its just like my neighbor buys a car of same model and color, and i'll sue him :D
