alex, 26 Apr 2011but surely if this info is stored on your personal computer... moreit's not the storage of it that is being disputed, it's the fact that it was collected in the first place.

but surely if this info is stored on your personal computer isnt it your right to protect that data. not apples if apple do not receive this data and store it then can see the point that people are concerned. if apple dont have the data then surely its not at risk?

alex, 26 Apr 2011This was bound to happen but haven't users agreed in the t&... moreApart from what is in the T&C, Apple has a few laws to abide to as well, even though the company often tries to make you believe otherwise.

One of these laws is the protection of privacy, any data collected that can be related to/infringe on the privacy of the customer must not be accessible to any third party, which is not the case with ' consolidated.db ' files.

i reckon apple should loose, then they might learn not everyone in the world bums apple, and then make more effort to manufacture better phones

This was bound to happen but haven't users agreed in the t&c's that this info can be stored I am sure I read this somewhere. If they have agreed then they have no rights, right? I am sure that apple won't lose sleep over this and will close the case and prevent people from doing it again. Pretty sure they would of known the laws of there own country before doing something like this.

Apple should not make software, iOS, that track and store/save information anywhere about the users location!
Apple use to sue anyone anytime over almost nothing at all, like how they sue Samsung for their phones looking to much like IPhones even though the law only really apply if someone completely copy the design and making it look identical and put an Apple-logo on the copied phone (many cars today look almost identical and it is often impossible so see what brand it is, so it is completely legal to look almost the same as long as they are not looking compeletly identical), so it is only good that Apple themself feel how it feels to be sued. It is definetly to easy to sue anyone in the US, and Apple missuse their right to sue and occupy time in the courts.
