Decent phone for it's price. Moto Z2 Play cost USD 499 (without mods!!) which is insane compare to it's specs. Only thing is it's design. Damn copy of Iphone. No characteristic of it's own. Sorry.

When preaching about success of 'progress' one should avoid being a high on his own fart.

          Good points
          Sd835
          Dual camera
          Slim design
          LPDDR4X RAM
          UFS 2.1

          Bad points
          Smaller battery than OP3T
Low resolution display compared to flagships
          Huge bezels
          No waterproofing
          No stereo speakers.
          No OIS

They should have priced it at $400 then it would be hit.

OdysseyTag, 20 Jun 20172012: "Thank goodness it still has a physical keyboard" 20... moreThankfully most of those don't matter.

Soft keyboard + gesture support is a million times faster than physical keyboard
All Metal Build fills with nicks and in general is not very presentable. It looks like a soft drink can

Wireless headphones that last a month are much better than wired ones, because you can choose the dac and you're not limited to what the phone offers. One less port is always better for a both the phone and the manufacturer.

Physical volume rocker is again stupid, much better to do it with gestures or 3d touch. Again less is more in that case.

I expect removable batteries in the form of removable backs to make a reurn. It's too good of an idea to go to waste. It also eliminates the need of a charging port (another "less is more" deal). You simply slide in a new back and you get an instant 100 (a small internal battery keeps the phone on while you make the swap).

IR is indeed a loss. MicroSD is going nowhere (plenty of phones still have it), but even if it did it wouldn't be a loss, 256 GB nands are common place these days. Fingerpring is going nowhere.

So in 6 out of 9 you were dead wrong. It's called progress ... you should try it. Some bad ideas of the past should simply die, that's how progress happens.

Peter-B, 20 Jun 2017Keep in mind that US prices usually don't include sales tax... moreprices listed here or anywhere never include taxes.. you can say that for any price ever listed...

the day time shots looked impressive enough....the few night shots looked actually mediocre tbh. although the telephoto shot was fairly decent.....the price is to be expected given the specs on board but still better then the other flagships out there. although it still is missing some top line specs but im sure that the OP6 will no doubt include those to justify a hike in prices more in line with the likes of Sony and Co...not bad phone tho

AnonD-558092, 20 Jun 2017That price. Can't believe it. Where's the trap? Do they hid... moreThat's the pricier OnePlus for ages.
Xiaomi is almost $200 cheaper for similar/better specs.

This is a very expensive phone for the Chinese standards. They're getting greedy each generation.

Used to be mid range prices. Now it's high end prices.
I'm "impressed" that people find them impressive... You can literally find SD820/4GB phones for $150 in China, $500 is a behemoth cost for a Chinese phone.

It should have had a QHD display(for VR) and not a pentile 1080p display.
Why cant companies put larger batteries rather than trying to make the phone thinner.

Another year... Another disappointment from Oneplus....

When OP1 came.... it cost half of what phones from major brands with similar specs cost. The gap has been closing year after year.

Take for example OP5 (8GB/128GB) and HTC U11(6GB/128GB). U11 costs only 36% more, but offers better looks, QHD display, waterproofing and a superior camera. Only thing OP5 offers more is 2 extra GB of RAM, which is unnecessary IMO.
