OnePlus 5 caught cheating on multi-core benchmarks

21 June 2017
The way it cheats is similar but not quite the same as the OnePlus 3 before it.

Anonymous, 22 Jun 2017How the heck did you managed to not have it blow up at 90 C... more90c is exactly blow the t-junc so it's the maximum safe temp. it's still pretty stupid and harms your battery.
I never benchmark any of my phones anymore. it might harm them D:

Hockeybro13, 22 Jun 2017Why's this even still a thing? Now everyone's going to say ... moreA lot of VW buyers here... people who don't want to understand what doctored results are, that don't actually happen in the real world (aka what every benchmark tries to measure), with the added grievance that it may actually damage the SoC due to how it bypasses critical safeguards.

Why's this even still a thing? Now everyone's going to say OnePlus is "cheating" again when they aren't at all. Tell me how showing the full potential of a chipset is cheating? Isn't that what the benchmarks are for? To test the max performance of a device? I guess not in this world because apparently that's labeled as cheating. Honestly petty and sad that this is even still news. I like how it's against OnePlus still too and not one other company, but they complain about there phones having lowers scores... And there by complaining that the phone they chose from whatever brand isn't "cheating" as well

My note 4 (or s4!?) heated up to 90 degrees during antutu c: that's just stupid.

and not to mention during any use my battery is always hot. even on my s7 D: that way the battery dies faster!

Well I'm not surprised at all, Asian companies are the most corrupted on planet earth. They can recycle anything and rebrand it as new just to rob the public. LG will sell u a phone only to leave u hanging with bootloop issues few months after, Samsung will build similar looking devices with glorified plastic and curved edges, advert rated to 10x just to buy the minds of naive fans and equally ripped them off their hard earned money, if the curved screen happens to break you end up paying almost half the cost of the phone just to fix a damn screen. I actually loved what oneplus started, the idea of budget friendly phones but I'm disappointed at what they did to heat up benchmark scores. I just dislike these brands, top on the list is LG, bootloop giant lol

some or many people bought the phone thinking about it. Now they can not cancel the reservation / purchase if you look at the forums and only give them the option to decline the package when it arrives.
