the specs may suggest more power is saved, but when you boost the amount a CPU can process then manufacturers pump more power consuming features into it making the battery burn away just as quickly. Software development needs to match it since discovering better batteries is getting harder.

I have no Idea on how difficult it is to improve battery life but in comaprison to everything else the increase in tech on Battery Life is not up to par.

This next generation of Qualcomm Snapdragon is good but many phones are not following basic requirements like Stereo speakers, high quality camera, Good QWERTY key board and customer service.

all the phones having these processors will have a battery life of 2 hours.....lol there has to be a drastic increase in battery life. speed of processor is not that necessary.

Its very impressive we are advancing day by day & finding processor which consumes low power is very crucial coz battery backup is a very imp issue to be addressed for smartphones. wish the researchers concentrate on enhancing battery power also.

i dont think dual core 2.5 ghz are really needed for mobile ... at a certain point , it will make no difference b/w dual core 1.2 or dual core 2.5.... coz mobile application usually dont need such 5 ghz processor..... instead of making more powerful processors , they should implement new useful technologies in the phone now... SONY's ExomR is one of them.... n it's really impressive....

No Gautam, you won't see that, 'couse there isn't a need for it, at least for now. What you will see is gradual miniaturization of everything, disappearance of desktop computers and traditional laptops. Every mobile phone will be connectable to a laptop dock (a la Motorola Atrix), and will run a fully working operating system. We can do that now if we really wanted to but the performance of Tegra 2, MSM 8260 and others isn't quite there to run, e.g. Windows 7. But i'm sure the next year's phones won't have a problem with that anymore.

I wait for full 64 bit mobile processor. Arm A-15 only used 64 bit for memory addressing.

They should stop playing with CPU's and start working on battery life
