Anonymous, 22 Jun 2017No one would be bashing them if the 1+5 cost 300$ But sin... moreI get you man ...the whole misinformation about their product is making their potential consumers skeptical about purchasing the phone ...far less its copy and paste look of its competitors. I also agree that OnePlus is claiming to tackle the big flagships yet will make a phone that doesn't have the tech to match them / copies ideas from them ... ie. They are not trying to fight them down but trying to match them. In all honesty if Oneplus made their phone look completely different to the Iphone 7+ / any others, I think even with all the leaks people would still be hyped enough to get a spec heavy phone for under $560; since there are NO phones with the latest chipset/specs going for that price. For those who are waiting for the next "BIG THING" but need a phone in the mean time, they may not go for the Oneplus 5 due to the price hyke. Oneplus has now broken their own motto with all the BS they have done with the 5. That motto being: "Never Settle" ...they have settled on Specs for their Camera (giving us a copy and paste set up from the Iphone but with higher Megapixels; nothing original from them), They claim that they don't have the tech like the bigger companies to add more stuff to their devices (watch the verge video on them) yet still claiming their phone is good enough to be a flagship killer and not another new-comer flagship. Don't get me wrong, I like Oneplus and I might end up buying the OnePlus 5 in the mean time (while waiting for the Note 9) since I'm satisfied with their camera quality and performance for their price point and I really need a new phone BUT according to Oneplus... I'll "NEVER SETTLE" for this as a flagship killer and if the S8 price drops to $600 or under.....I will obviously choose it over the Oneplus 5, however before that happens I might "SETTLE" for this for the time being.

Where it is stated that even with a sticker on the telephoto lens, the phone will get the same result.

- OP5 backside just screams iPhone 7 plus no matter how to twist and turn it - and so does the Oppo R11 - which translate into: Lack of innovation/motivation to push the limits of a "flagship killer"
- Not a "flagship killer" anymore - crossing the 500 dollar segment, it's just another flagship
- Failed to deliver trustworthy benchmarks. And yes, I know benchmarks ain't everything, but the fact that they had to cheat about it, just makes the OP5 more cringeworthy.
- Now the marketing is off as well. it's only 1,6x optical zoom and not 2.0 as originally stated by OnePlus.
