I wish Asus will finally make another mid range Max device that will feature this or SD625 to do 4K video recording.
My current Zenfone Max remains unparalleled by almost every other phones other than Gionee Marathon (idk the model) and Lenovo P2.
Its successor, the Zf3 Max was kind of disappointing for the downgrade of capacity, but I think the Zf3 Zoom will be the best mid ranger of its class.

xXENDER FREAKXx, 28 Jun 2017How companies do their marketing; they put a massive batter... moreDon't get me wrong, my phone achieves really impressive SoT.
With intensive usage like social media and gaming, 10 hours would be a norm, but if I fully maximize its juice by lessening my usage, it can drive up to 13 hours.
Here on GSMArena, it gets a 121h endurance rating, which by standards today, is still way ahead of pretty much every other typical smartphones including the flagships.
The efficiency of the SD625 made the Lenovo P2 go crazy and jump ahead despite the relatively same screen and battery size as my Zenfone Max.

nokia12, 28 Jun 2017How are they redundant ? SD 450 and 625 are different price... moreSD625 is discontinued? What?
Sony used SD820 in 2017 with the XZs.
OnePlus used SD801 in 2015 with the OnePlus X.
Processors are not discontinued, but are often left unused.

AceShot, 28 Jun 201725% better but at the same time 30% lower battery consuptio... moreSD450 with the same price as SD625/626? Are u nuts?
NO matter what, 25% better for a bunch of Cortex A53 doesn't mean anything.
Moreover, people who choose to buy "new" SoC with Cortex A53 for ALL core are NUTS.
Why? because Cortex A55 have been introduced by ARM last month, so IF u have to buy a new phone, just buy device(s) with SD650/652/653 OR
buy cheap phone with SD625/626, as it is the "last" crop of Cortex A53 worthy to buy.
By next year, Cortex A53 will be outdated, so what's the point of buying new device(s) with "new" SoC that still use Cortex A53 which will be outdated in few months?
That's why there are people (many actually, including me) are in "wait & see" mode when wanting to buy a certain device, as newer products doesn't necessarily a better option to buy than previous ones.

nokia12, 28 Jun 2017How are they redundant ? SD 450 and 625 are different price... moreIn a sense, yes, SD450 is SD625 'lite', so when someone said it's redundant, then s/he is right, in a sense (specs wise as it has the same config: 8core Cortex A53 + Adreno 506)..
In other sense (price & hierarchy), it's wrong, as Qualcomm will NEVER made its entry-level SoC overshadowed its middle-range counterpart. Even if SD450 has the same Adreno 506, I dare to bet Qualcomm will clock it down, as not not overshadowed Adreno 506 performance in SD625/626.
The question now, IF a certain brand (e.g. Xiaomi) had used SD625/626 for their last year device(s), and sold it at bargain price, will people still buy their next-gen device powered by SD450, the 'lite version of SD625/626 with disabled features?
I think the question has been shown by Xiaomi with their Redmi Note 3 Pro/ Mi Max from last year.
People with "knowledge" of SoC won't bother buying device(s) with inferior specs, albeit new, as their last year device(s) was much better than this year's new device(s).
And for people who haven't buy last year device, as they are in waiting mode for better SoC/specs to roll out, will buy last year device (new or used) instead of the new one, as last year device will certainly be much, much cheaper a year later, even going as far as buying two (happened with Samsung Note 4, S5, LG G5, Xiaomi Mi5, Mi Max, and Redmi Note 3 Pro).
In that case, IF a certain brand DID use SD450 after previously used mid-range SoC (SD625/626 0r SD650/652/653), the sales of their new products will certainly in a mess (except when they price it way cheaper than last year products, which might make some profits).
So, nope, the release of SD450 is a "nightmare" for customer who are in waiting mode to buy "better specs" budget device(s), as manufacturers will certainly used it for their next-gen device(s), especially mid-range priced devices.
Imagine: There are more and more manufacturers making device(s) with mid-range price BUT equipped the device with SD450! (Nokia 6 REBORN!)

Can't believe that android users are f...ed this badly, and yet they still believe, burn their money and constantly talking about improvements :o
Lets keep this simple.A53 is 5 year old architecture, and besides low energy consuption it offers nothing!Sure the modems get better,as well as gpu(not enough though),and process get smaller. But for what?
Iphone 5 blows this chipsets out of the water.Yes they can continue bumping the ram and the GHz in order to make their customers feel good and happy, when in reallity the phones they sold to them sucks and sucks big time. And I even keep the Android(as an OS) out of equatation!?
Than people wonder, why is Apple doing this well, even when it comes to generaton or two older models still on sale... the answer is right here in the article.Four or five generatons old iphones still had much better SoC than entry level(and many midrange) Android phones.
Start thinking people!

Well done! Now this will be the best soc for performance/efficiency/cost. Adreno 506 on 720p will be killer. Long battery life with great performance with bigger batteries in lower cost. Amazing. I think we will see this soc in phones kby end of year.

Moving from Adreno 505 on SD430/435 to Adreno 506 on SD625/626 means a big increase in graphic computing performance, from 48,6 GFLOPS to 130 GFLOPS.
I don't think that's ONLY make 25% boost in gaming performance,
should be more than that...
With SD450 as an entry level, SD630 and SD660 as midrange, people nowadays can have better option for their devices. They don't have to have a highend chipset which pricier for their devices to run all apps smoothly. Well done Qualcomm.

Bebe Rexha, 28 Jun 2017Totally redundant. Manufacturers can just opt for the SD625... moreHow are they redundant ? SD 450 and 625 are different price segment.. by that logic those who can opt for SD 625 instead of sd 450 they can also choose sd 653 or SD 835 right ?
Besides SD 625 is discontinued .. replaced by SD 630 .. that is clocked at 2.2 ghz ( 23% faster )and has a better gpu and quick charge 4 than SD 450

Totally redundant. Manufacturers can just opt for the SD625 and people will be fooled by the fact that higher means better.
If they made this at least with Cortex A73 and a faster clockspeed, then it would've made more sense.
My Zenfone Max has awesome battery that's hindered by the inefficiency of the SD410.
