Nokia and Xiaomi sharing tech information each other but I worry the Xiaomi is nothing to share maybe they'll share a lot of China bloatware (if you don't agree with me, please show me how many technology Xiaomi have)

Nokia tech is always better Xiaomi, does anyone remember the 41MP sensor?

It's all good and progressive. Nokia rich patent portfolio has agreements with apple too as well as a host of others. It's business and comes from a strong Nokia position. Not only that Nokia is quite extensive in other technology areas. So they see advantages in helping another company collaboratively where they also gain for other areas of their diverse portfolio. It's good general news. In a commercial world we could do with more positive collaboration actually. I am so going to support a Nokia flagship this year and get behind them if specs are good.

This could be something. Two such big companies working together.

This makes an awful lot of sense to me. Xiaomi make some very good stuff but the software is a bit lacking. Nokia has the in-depth knowledge. I wouldn't mind buying a Nokia-branded Xiaomi as being best of both worlds.

Bebe Rexha, 05 Jul 2017Joint collaboration and still won't beat the beasts, namely... moreXiaomi on its own has more sales than 3 of the companies you mentioned. Don't know what are you high on.... With Nokia's sep they can expand to western markets and Nokia can get their processors reducing their dependency on qcom and mtk. Btw Samsung and meizu also have a deal. No one mentioned it here. Don't know why?

Nokia didn't sell patents to Microsoft ( a few maybe + the branding "PureView" in relation to the camera and 'ClearBlack" in relation to display.
and also those two brandings only, the tech behind it still under Nokia,
In relation to the camera, the Carl Zeiss agreement is moved to Microsoft and no more with Nokia but that too is probably on the ending part of the agreement, so hopefully, we might see HMD Global Oy taking hands with Zeiss optics too.

PS: - Nokia really isn't as small as you think if you're talking about patents and the deal with Microsoft was mainly focused on R&D of Phone manufacturing and not patents.

                              A new low for Nokia

To me it's a good development, as xiaomi really produce cheap good phone compare to other. Wonder will they collaborate with Nokia to produce a really awesome budget phone

AnonD-241270, 05 Jul 2017ahahah, what patens Nokia own today?! ten? twenty?! bec... moreEven if its dead already they still bring the brand name with the phone. Thats how NOKIA is still alive in the mobile division. Deal with it boi. Jealous because they come back to the mobile division and bring customers back eh?

Joint collaboration and still won't beat the beasts, namely Samsung, Apple, LG, Sony, Huawei, Oppo, and even HTC would beat this collabed companies.

Not hating, because I do love Nokia, but I don't see this collaboration doing any major improvements whatsoever on both fields.
Who knows, this might be a surprise.
But Google and HTC partnership didn't help boost HTC's reputation that much.

Oh look, the 'mighty' Nokia with an obnoxious fanbase which claims it'll never stoop down to china's level is now partnering with, guess what "cheap, copycat, low quality ching chong" chinese companies...
