Linux based systems will use any amount of ram that you are going to throw at them, it's impossible not to. There iOS not even one user who don't use 8GB on oneplus (unless you reboot a lot).
You have to learn how ram works on android (very much unlike windows):

If camera doesn't match S8, no way I'll be buying it... It won't be cheap so I don't see why I woupd get Mix2 instead of S8+ or LG V30... The first Mi Mix had horrible camera...

The more ram the better as you don't have to load things from memory anymore. Everything is stored in ram eventually.

I faced this idiot problem in note 1 and redmi 2 in which they lost wifi function but phone is left with phone function, no more.
