Metal or strong glass or plastic. Most important it must be durable and beautiful.

Anonymous, 15 Jul 2017BTW I'm iPhone 7 user, but my favorite design was iPhone 4.My favorite iPhone design is now my space gray SE. Beats the 4/4s design. Hate glass rears.

But I believe my glacial silver HTC One M7 looks better than all of them including my titanium silver S7 edge.

But for design, ergonomics, and material used -
Nexus One. I still wouldn't go back to that phone because it is too slow seven and a half years later.

I'm warning people now to protect themselves from the electrical currents it generates. So much radiation being held with our hands . I wanted an Apple Watch Series 2 but need to rethink getting one.

Collecting and holding our phones most of the day might be a cool hobby to millions. But it will get the best of us. Too much of any good thing is bad.

My favorite phone to hold right now -
        Google Pixel

^ Doesn't generate as much heat, feels nice in the hand, and the smoothest Android experience ever.

Prior was the Moto E 4G but the SD410 has aged pretty badly after a year. Gotten too slow.

Carbon fiber body with Sapphire glass front.

I own HTC One M7, iPhone SE, and LG V20. Still not a fan of all-aluminum. It might feel heavier and look classier. I don't care. I'm practical. Plastic absorbs shock better. People defeat the purpose of all-aluminum phone with a plastic case anyway.

There is no perfect material. They all are breakable. They all have their pluses and minuses. But I choose whatever material Motorola does with their soft, rubberized plastic.

Boni, 15 Jul 2017If im paying 700€ for a phone you better put ceramic or sap... moreCeramic and sapphire are both more scratch resistant but more prone to cracking so even more fragile. You should look JerryRigEverything on YouTube, he's a professional phone durability tester.

The strong plastic Nokia and Motorola used in the 1990's and early 2000's. My least favorite material is glass for the rears. But I also am not a fan of all-metal. My V20 gives me electric shocks too. That's why I decided not to use it for awhile.

My favorite design and material used on the Nexus One. I prefer the soft touch. For most people, they put it in a plastic case anyway. It should be mandatory because feeling the electric currents from it isn't healthy. A case is like a condom. Don't want to hold so much radiation towards your bloodstream for hours.

Chose glass because it doesn't have lines, makes you use wireless charging and as I have a case, it won't crack while at the same time being more resistant against the dust which is collected by cheap cases and could scratch the body

Who ever is voting for glass are silly. Even if it has Gorilla glass back, it still breaks no matter how Corning tries to convince everyone it's strong. You drop it 3ft to a hard ground, it's likely going to crack. You'd still need to cover it up with protective case - rubber or plastic.

Might as well have the correct material in the first place.

There are millions of people using metal phones in subzero temperatures and I'm quite sure if that were really a problem people would know about it.

Your phone probably has some component making contact with the body.

And if anything, aluminum phones are better at dissipating heat from the internal components.

I hate the current trend that manufacturers produce all-aluminum phones. They are really annoying to use during -30c winter weather and I get small electric shocks from them as I pick up the phone from a wooden table or from my pants pocket. Wish phones were like Nexus 6 was, only partly aluminum. Sigh. :/

What about polycarbonate found on the old Nokia Lumias. I remember my Lumia 1020 being tough enough to withstand multiple drops with just little knicks.
