Hi I just got my new Samsung Note FE and its great . With all do respect please dont say bad words regarding with this great phone

    I feel like Samsung missed out on a great opportunity here.
    They should've gotten all the Note 7's that were returned and unsold, basically around 4 million units, and started a campaign.

    Pretty much put in the smaller fixed battery and called it the FanEdition.
    And sold these 64GB models for US$479.
    On an invite-based system.
    Get it?
    They could've practically pulled a OnePlus, do something for the fans, and in the process crush their competitors. To sweeten the deal, they should've made it rooteable/community friendly and just sell with the caveat that warranty and support would be extremely limited, and that's fair. I mean 4 million units is nothing to scoff at, its about the total amount of phones OnePlus sold if you exclude the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus 3.

    For comparison, here's how OnePlus has performed:
    The first OnePlus One only sold ~1.7 million units, the OnePlus 2 sold ~4.8 million units, OnePlus X sold ~0.9 million units, the OnePlus 3 sold ~6.0 million units, and the OnePlus 3t sold ~2.0 million units.
    OnePlus 5 is expected to sell anywhere from 2 - 10 million units.

    It would've been the best way to win back the enthusiasts crowd, rather than just write-off he whole thing as a business loss.

And longer battery life. And still be within the thickness of other flagships of the past year or two.

I don't know why anyone would do this for the short term benefit of shaving off some minutes of charging time.

                A bigger battery means more reserved power. It's a good idea to have so you don't stress the battery with deep discharges. That means better power holds.

                These companies can do a top-notch hardware with a large battery. But most of you would say you want smartphones thin to a point where it's 5mm thick and made of glass.

I myself would prefer a snapdragon 835/Exynos 8895/other equivalent chipset with atleast 5,000 mAh battery. and supercharge that will charge that massive battery in a decent time. if you'll ask me? I'd build such a phone. but where to start?

                    See the "C-UR US" logo on the new battery? It means it is Underwriters Laboratories certified. The old battery wasn't tested by Underwriters Laboratories because Samsung cheaped out and it explodes.

                        Trend from 2011 tells us there is a need for more battery. Why in the world do we want smaller batteries instead? Because we like thin devices yet we are forced to carry powerbanks and chargers all the time?

                        I don't think this is the future. I don't believe in the BS about lowering performance or cutting down use to get by the day - might as well get a mid-ranged device. I don't also believe in fast charging that destroys the battery faster.

                        Some lower-ended smartphones have 5000mAh, yet manufacturers deliberately don't give them the features of high-end ones. It's really a conspiracy to making buyers of high-end devices buy every year by making you charge the battery more and with fast charging so it loses power hold by the following year.

                        It's the nature for any battery to lose its charge after some 300 to 500 charging cycles - that's exactly a year.

                        Whereas my old Note 3 can be powered up by third-party extended batteries (10,000 mAh) without worry of needing to charge during the day.

I myself am a hog of data. listening a lot to the highest quality in youtube. streaming Apple music (AND NO. I don't have an iPhone. I registered to apple's service using android). Playing a MOBA and still I barely reach 2 GB!

                            Would it be bothersome to have the device be 1 to 2mm thicker to accommodate a battery that could deliver TWICE more than having to charge before going home?

                            Note5/S6 was the start of Samsung's trend to increase revenue via selling powerbanks, charging pads, changing batteries, repairing fragile display glass that can cost $200+, and the fact that people like you are ok in spending more than laptop cost yearly.

                            Way sillier to be walking about with a thin phone, yet plug in twice daily with the powerbank you lug around, and be charging two things every day.

(Original Note 7 is SM-N930x while FE is SM-N935x). that ONE DIGIT DIFFERENCE may cause brickage. Unless you got a LOT of time to change in the WHOLE rom every identifying file from 930 to 935? (and there are over 89,000 files like that.)

                                    I wonder if airlines would still ban the Note FE because its basically the Note 7 with a smaller battery... I still would like it as a novelty item.

                                        You're right about Xiaomi, i'll be getting the Mi max 2 soon. It looks like an exception. And it has good stereo speakers too!
