Kangal, 17 Jul 2017What about something like the LG G6 but in a 4.9" size... m... moreBeing that the 2:1 aspect ration means that the current 5.7" G6 (and 5.8" S8) have a similar width to the 5.1" S7 I don't think a G6 mini would have a 2:1 aspect ratio screen in the 4"+ range or it would be too narrow.

Sammy, 17 Jul 2017I currently have a Samsung S7 which is the perfect phone fo... moreMake the move buddy. was a loyal symbian user once ( n5230,c5-00 and 808), tried few android phones ( lg g2, samsung s4,etc) but again went back to 808. last year bought a moto X 2013, which is in my opinion the best smartphone ever designed in terms of compact but large enough screen. kept it on kitkat, it never lagged. limited storage was the only draw back. recently bought an SE 64GB. this is one of a kind device all i can say. plenty of storage, decent ppi, 4k video, 240fps slomo in 720p, 123.8 x 58.6 size. more than 6 hours of SOT. i would say, this has a better browsing experience than the moto X. downside; texting and amoled.

ie/ smaller device not because of the screen, but the bezel shrinking.

I currently have a Samsung S7 which is the perfect phone for me in every way except size (and it's a 5.1", not 5.5). I'm waiting for any android manufacturer to produce a premium phone in the 4-4.7 inch range, but this seems unlikely (we'll see if Sony's next Compact will have flagship internals). Otherwise, I may consider the SE, much as I hate Apple's walled garden business model.

that would be a sad thing.
iphone SE is the best looking phone made by apple and maybe the best looking current phone. iconic design. would love to see it with the 7 or 7s hardware.

Why would it be a "bad joke"? Some people prefer the more compact design and currently Apple is the only company that offers smartphones of this size with a pretty powerful SoC on-board. It's a nice deal, in my view. This is why I was hoping for a refresh of the iPhone SE. :)

Damn, I was really hoping for a new version of the iPhone SE. I like it's slick, literally handful, design and powerful internals. Too bad...
