This must be one of the most pathetic excuses i've ever come across on the subject of aspect ratio. Lol are you reading a wall? Do you read paragraphs at vertical segment per vertical segment? Use your brain, my friend. It's covered in cobwebs.

Even though it's nitpicking on small things, I really hope this is not what the rear will look like. That whole setup with cameras and sensors looks too messy. The J7 leaks is a lot cleaner, and I'd hope that's more in line what the Note8 will look like.

Waterproofed Samsung phones all have better waterproofing than any iPhone. IP68 vs, barely splash proof. The argument that USB ports creates better sound is also factually wrong. They force headphone manufacturers to integrate a full DAC into headphones. Here's the thing. This causes WORSE audio experiences, as the phone now have to use an external DAC for its internal work. You get sound lag, syncing issues with anything concerning audio editing or altering, as the sound has to travel OUT to the headphones and then back into the phone for any other apps wanting to access the same audio one app is using/creating. This is literally the opposite of better sound.

One minute of silence for the Note8 fanboys, who will say 3300 Mah battery is more than enough to run the horse.. "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish" lol..love that quote.. iphone8 won't be any different. I would be glad, if the phone has a 3000 Mah battery the least.

AnonD-632062, 22 Jul 2017I can understand Apple and it's motives, but why did Moto, ... moreThe pros. Better waterproofing, more space to fit in other components (bigger battery, etc), better audio quality if type-C headphones/earphones are used (ones that have a proper built in DAC).

The cons. Some people can't listen to music and charge the phone at the same time (level of mobile addiction, OVER 9000). Some already has great headphones/earphones and using cheap adapters ruin the quality. Adapters are super easy to loose (can be solved by leaving the adapter on the earphones).

I personally don't care if its there or not. I use my PC for most of my audiophile needs (no phone on the market can match the quality of my sound blaster ZXR from creative). And audio output from type-C is good enough for the little bit of listening I do on the go.

Looks great all I ask is that they keep the headphone jack and somehow add fingerprint scanner in the display.

I guess you meant 12:9 which is the same as 4:3, the approximate aspect ratio covered by the human visual field when you don't move your eyes around. 16:9 is the approximate aspect ratio covered when you move/roll your eyes to the leftmost, rightmost, topmost and bottom. In essence, if one were to calculate the aspect ratio of the human visual field with the head fixed, it would fall between 4:3 (fixed gaze) and 16:9 (when moving the eyeballs). Phones with aspect ratios beyond those limits serve no purpose other than to make holding easy at the expense of reading/viewing comfort.

AnonD-632062, 22 Jul 2017I can understand Apple and it's motives, but why did Moto, ... moreFact is, that it isn't for decades working on phones. Remember that popular phones had their own headphone-connector. I remember that my Sony K750i and K550i (about 2007/2008) had this weird "fast-"port. Things began to change in 2008. When we FINALLY had a standard to use the all-available 3.5"jack and associated (higher quality) headphones.

Apple just changed it to enforce selling their airbuds. The android-others are just doing it either out of greed or stupidity. As none of these manufacturers have similar headphones like airbuds or believe that saving on that jack will make them rich :-\

Of course that is not what the parties involved will say. They'll use some PR-crap to justify this. I hope people use common sense in their buying decisions and vote with their wallets.

But frankly, I seriously doubt that the majority is smart enough to see through this scam.

AnonD-632062, 22 Jul 2017I can understand Apple and it's motives, but why did Moto, ... moreYeah, you're right. I actually stopped paying attention to brand like HTC, Xiaomi.

Absolutely no point to remove the jack. Just following Apple without thinking. I guess going into dongles is a thing.

Rumors are, Samsung will bundle the next generation Icon X wireless earphones with the Note8. I just hope it could at least last 6 hours for music/calls per charge, unlike 1.5 hours for the current.
