Nokia E6 and X7 go on pre-order in Germany, seem pricey

14 May, 2011
When announced a month ago, the Nokia duo E6 and X7 caused a good deal of excitement. Packing the latest Symbian update, called Anna, the two smartphones proved that the OS is not yet ready to head into...

therock, 15 May 2011Again, because it is a pre-order price. the pre order price... morePre order or not it still doesn't justify the high price. If the price drops in less than 3months then that really means that these devices doesn't warrant the high initial price and it devaluates fast.

My N8 was launched 7 months ago and it got more features than the E6 and X7. It doesn't justify the high pre order price at all. Like I said earlier, even a fanboy like me cannot defend this crazy pricing.

I hope the X7 doesn't suffer the same purple screen defect on my N8. Nokia's AMOLED screens are faulty.

Anonymous, 15 May 2011dont you think your comments is a little too much?proving y... moreI am just posting statistical information. Nokia's highest selling markets are that, rural developing countries, Areas of China where they're not close to developed cities, and rural parts of India. Nothing wrong with this, Nokia sells 100 million devices in these areas and at a price of 60 euros on average thats quite a lot of money, these people needs phones that will last long as power is not readily available. My comment about the GPU however is not towards rural people, it's to those who have access to information and technology but fail to use it to gain information such as your average Nokia fanboy on here. Is Nokia a failing company? In my eyes yes, if you don't like it you can always refute my statement; just be sure to have an answer when I give you facts and information to back up my claim.

They think that because the BCM2727 running at nHD(640x360) scores as well as the Adreno 205 at 480x800 and the hummingbird at same resolution that their phones are just as powerful. They don't believe that if the GPU needs to render an additional 153000 pixels it's performance would drop. It's okay, most Nokia fanbois live in poor rural areas where they can't afford to play games, so they don't know how GPU's work in general. If you were to tell them a gpu Crysis 2 running at 1920x1200 with full AA and pulling only 24fps is not the same as a gpu running Crysis 2 at 800 x 600 at 24 fps, they'll call you a witch because this defies logic.

                              1. A8 is much more advanced than the ARM11 used in Nokia phones.
                              2. iPhone 3GS has less than half the resolution of standard WVGA android phones which you describe are "power hungry".

So an A8 Cortex 600Mhz HVGA iphone 3GS is equal if not more powerful that an A8 Cortex 1Ghz WVGA smartphone.

replacing ARM11 with A8 is never overkill, because A8 is more efficient than ARM11 (because of its architecture).

[deleted post]LOL I thought you fanbois always said that your devices were more functional? Yet you're only doing exactly what we are doing with our more expensive toys? You're right to me a phone is just that, a toy. I can afford to buy them quite often, and guess what? My phones were never resource hungry. Maybe you should do some research before you actually talk non sense. You do know that symbian was free until April 5 2011 right? Why is it that no one but Nokia used symbian? Because I was crap. Your next excuse is that you don't need android because flash lite is fine? LOL and your reason for thatbwas there's no right clicking in a mobile device? I play flash games perfectly fine on my phones. This includes Facebook games on the actual Facebook website as well as sites such as omgpop. So while you're sitting there laughing because your web browser sucks and you need to download opera we laugh because our phones give better user experiences right out of the box. Nokia has high market shares because their devices are cheap, but that's nothing wrong, I know the majority of the world isn't like me where they can afford to put out 500 usd. Every 7 months for top of the line phone andbcan only afford the average 60 euro that the average Nokia devices sell for(non smartphone). By the way this was typed entirely on my g2x(optimus 2x) with full flash content enabled, but you Nokia tanbois think that is a "waste" of resource. Sure when you can't have anything it'd a waste of resource huh? Lol
