Oh, and it's for better water protection as there's no gaps for water to enter in.
And better durability too. Samsung went insane with durability with the S6, the first Samsung glass and metal flagship smartphone.

Look at all those removable battery cucs. Make them hear out that we want a phone thick enough to be removable. If you want a removable battery, your phone will have the extra plastic parts to house your battery and with that, it's thick. I'm glad it's irremovable but knowing LG Chem, they make batteries good enough to not need a removable battery feature.

AnonD-632062, 01 Aug 2017The V30 really looks beautiful like the G6! I think it will... moreaperture F stop number says NOTHING about how much light is gathered without the sensor size... so the 1.6 aperture on a 1/3 sensor like the g6 is (simple maths) only a 2.1 Aperture on a larger 1/2.3 sensor like the nexus 5x or many sony phones offer, so actually the F2 google pixel gathers more light than the F1.6 LG phone..
Got it?

The V30 really looks beautiful like the G6! I think it will hopefully also be as solid as the G6 too!
f/1.6?! Awesome.
Back in 2015, LG flagships were pretty impressive with their class-leading aperture of f/1.8. While f/1.8 is still pretty good even now, f/1.6 would be amazing.
The only downside of the V30 is that it is launching with Android Nougat, when even last year's V20 was launched with Nougat. But I guess that is a consequence of the V20 being simply awesome rather than the V30's fault!

There will never be (at least in the foreseeable future) any phone with removable battery. And it's very sad.
Yes, we should keep using LG G5 and V20 forever.

Why no mention about the non-removable battery in the article? They don't want to remind people that V20 has removable battery. They want to make people to not to consider it as an important thing.
But the removable battery is the most important. If V30 will not have it, I will never buy it.

And it's funny how long has Sony stuck with their beloved f2.0 lens - A Sony Xperia fan.
Btw the 41mp 1/1.5" OIS-enabled f2.8 optic sensor of the Nokia 808 still destroys all flagship phones of this year, so I can only imagine it with more advanced image processing, lower megapixels (16mp will be perfect), brighter f1.8 aperture, and faster & better image processing. True killer dream.

If it has the same camera setup as the LG G6... Will the f1.6 aperture make up for the poor camera performance? DxOMark testresults please..

Anonymous, 01 Aug 2017Phone makers can't keep increasing the maximum aperture of ... moreYou are correct on sharpness on corners/edges. There is still a lot of room for improving sharpness even at 12 Megapixels or lower. Using Gsmarena's comparison tool, there's no smartphone camera yet that comes close to the Acer Liquid Jade Primo even at 5MP image size reduction. Sony's 20MP sensors are a waste as the lenses can't keep up.
Fast/Bright lenses also tend to distort images at the corners. We don't even know the vignetting and chromatic aberrations that these cameras fix through software which causes corners to be poor compared to the center of the image.
