iPhone 8 might record 4K in 60fps

04 August 2017
There’s also a chance of the front camera can shoot at the same resolution and frame rate, but we highly doubt it.

xXENDER FREAKXx, 04 Aug 2017And 4K 60fps recording will definitely heat up the smartpho... moreTell me about it. Bur the average buyer is dumb. He sees big numbers and says "Oh my 20MP? This camera is better than the iPhone 7 or the S8". Same goes for RAM and CPU clockrates. So at the second Apple will advertise this phone as "Capable of recording videos with incredible details at 60 images per second, two times more than the last gen, making the video come to life", people will say "Ooooooh! Two times the images?!?!?!?!?!!!!? MUST BUY NOW!!!". That, and also other weird features or the portage from other OEMs of certain "features" like inductive charging (what is also known as Wireless charging) or a file manager.

AnonD-558092, 04 Aug 2017Oh good. And where people will watch their videos? Oh right... moreAnd 4K 60fps recording will definitely heat up the smartphone more if the thermals are not that stellar compared to 4K

Lots of things I really like about iOS in comparison to Android but man if they would just make some basic stuff work! Or for example sharing and adding contacts is just as equally an unnecessary pain.

4K in 60fps is fantastic! iPhone 8 will have the fastest processor ever made for any phone!
I like the iPhone 8 design, looks far better than Galaxy S8!

Oh good. And where people will watch their videos? Oh right, on the 750p display of their iPhone. Perfectly capable of displaying all the details from a 2160p video. But at 60fps, it's now even better with almost 2x the size!

Ugh. Why people make such a fuss about 4K? There are still people buying 720p displays and TV channels in 720p around the world. And it's not like 4K content is widespread. I do own a 4K TV but that's because it was on sale. The only ways for me to enjoy 4K content are videos from mobile devices and buying (or having the credentials of someone that gave to me) a NetFlix premium subscription. My local TV providers are really asking for ridiculous premiums for the poor library of 4K content they offer.

AnonD-672395, 04 Aug 2017Interesting. Samsung had 4k on their Smartphones 4-5 years ... moreNice objective comment... btw the first Samsung with 4k capability was the Note 3 (09/2013) and the first iPhone was the 6S (09/2015) => 2 years

I wish iOS 11 could have the basic functionality of deleting multiple contacts. I have to install third party app to get this basic thing done. After coming from a note5 to iPhone 7 plus I find certain basic features missing in iPhone. Apple's health app is a joke when compared to S Health. Apple should focus on these first. Apparently to do anything in an iPhone you need a third party app.

Actually I hope Samsung brings Atleast 8-bit 4-2-2 to a smartphone, even if it's only for 10mins at a time. That could make it a serious filmmaking camera.
And, Samsung needs to work on creating an Ecosystem of Apps and Accessories around Samsung, that is way more exclusive than all other Android Phones around or even iPhone.

Interesting. Samsung had 4k on their Smartphones 4-5 years BEFORE Apple. But when Apple Finally got 4k, the Press made it sound like they discovered Life On Mars.

The Hype around Apple is Irritating TBO. I am happy about the 4k60p. Though I wish a smartphone would do full res (12MP?) burst RAW at 30p or something. That could help push it's Dynamic Range Significantly. Also, it would be great for sports and wildlife photography (with an attached zoom lens).

Anyways, I have my hope High from the Note 8 camera. I am looking forward to the Dynamic Range and Low Light on that one. I hope they have made it even better than the Camera on the S8.

4K in 60fps. Of course. Why not. Because everyone got a 4k tv at home. Everyone need it. It is essential feature. Everyone always take a 4k video everyday to post on facebook, instagram, youtube and stuff. Futureproof. Nobody watch HD or FHD anymore. Iphone 8 will come with 1 terabytes of internal storage anyway. It is simply perfect. Perfecto! Awesome. Good job Apple. Kudos.
